The fractional order systems has been used successfully to model in frequency domain the development of induced currents in electric machines, especially in the dampers or massive parts of large synchronous machines. The objective of this work consists in extending the field of application of fractional order models for small signal stability studies of an electrical network.
This paper reports on methods for the analysis of electrical machines by combined electromagnetic and thermal models using commercial software which can be an aid to the design of these machines. Examples using a brushless permanent-magnet motor and an induction motor illustrate the tools available and techniques possible.
Hysteretic behavior model of soft magnetic material usually used in electrical machines and electronic devices is necessary for numerical solution of Maxwell equation. In this study, a new dynamic hysteresis model is presented, based on the nonlinear dynamic system identification from measured data capabilities of fuzzy clustering algorithm. The developed model is based on a Gustafson-Kessel (G...
Rapid developments are occurring in design of electrical machines and its control. To get optimum performance under normal/fault condition needs implementation of fault tolerance. Next decade is of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines. The paper presents mathematical modeling of PMSM. A current and speed controller is designed to implement fault tolerance and its stability analysis.
Rotating electrical machines play an important role in the world’s industrial life. Hence there is a strong demand on their reliable and safe operation. Their faults and failures can lead to excessive downtimes and generate enormous costs in reduced output, emergency maintenance and lost revenues. Therefore the fault detection methods of electrical machines are of real interest. For the rotor f...
Modeling of hysteresis loops may be useful for the designers magnetic circuits in electric machines. The present paper focuses on possibility to apply Harrison model describe grain-oriented electrical steel subject compressive stress. extension is achieved by introduction an additional term into equation that describes irreversible magnetization process. does not include a product stress and ma...
The key to understanding and explaining the baffling situation of anomalous excess electrical energy generation in free energy machines, lies in a re-interpretation of magnetism as not being a property of the magnet, but of space itself. The spatial distortion induced into the homogeneous Primordial Energy Field by the anisotropy of the magnet is what we call magnetism. It is the thesis of this...
The paper presents issues regarding the flux estimation of induction machines. The electrical machines variable’s estimation represents a major problem in the actual context of modern control approaches, especially of sensorless control strategies. There are considered several implementations of induction machine’s flux estimators by using the Matlab-Simulink environment and there are drawn the...
Axial Flux Permanent Magnet (AFPM) machines are attractive candidates for Electric Vehicles (EVs) applications due to their axial compact structure, high efficiency, high power and torque density. This paper presents general design characteristics of AFPM machines. Moreover, torque density of the machine which is selected as main objective function, is enhanced by using Genetic Algorithm (GA) a...
We review existing machine condition monitoring techniques and industrial automation for plant-wide condition monitoring of rotating electrical machines. Cost and complexity of a condition monitoring system increase with the number of measurements, so extensive condition monitoring is currently mainly restricted to the situations where the consequences of poor availability, yield or quality are...
