We describe a rare case of extranodal marginal zone/low-grade B-cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) combined with areas of well-differentiated adenocarcinoma. In addition, the MALT lymphoma was synchronously systemic, with involvement of the lung, stomach and duodenum.

Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma is the third most common non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and it is strongly associated with helicobacter pylori infection of the stomach. MALT lymphoma of the lacrimal gland usually presents as a localized disease process in extranodal tissues. The treatment options of MALT lymphoma of the lacrimal gland chiefly include radiation of the tumor, chemotherap...

Extranodal lymphoma (ENL) occurs in approximately 30%-40% of all patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and has been described in almost all organs and tissues. However, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is the most common histological subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, primarily arising in the retroperitoneal region. In this article, we report a rare case of an adult male diagnosed with primary diffuse ...

Introduction & Objective: 40% lymphomas are extranodal and gastrointestinal (GI) tract is the most common site. Gastrointestinal lymphomas by definition have not liver, spleen, lymph node and bone marrow involvement. The most common gastrointestinal lymphomas are MALTOMA, diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBL), burkitt, follicular and T cell lymphoma. The most common patients are old men. The a...

We report a case of a 75-year old man that came at hematologist’s attention for lymphoma evaluation due to axillary lymph node enlargement and fever. Thorax, abdomen and pelvis Contrast-Enhanced Computed Tomography (CECT) showed lymph nodes, spleen and liver lesions. Axillary lymph node biopsy was performed and the diagnosis of marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) at stage IV was postulated, then the p...

BACKGROUND In contrast to gastric extranodal marginal zone mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphomas, there is little consensus on the value and clinical consequences of extensive staging at diagnosis and during follow-up in non-gastric MALT lymphomas. DESIGN AND METHODS Complete clinical information at presentation and during follow-up was collected for 72 patients with non-gastric ...

Primary central nervous system lymphoma is a rare form of extranodal B cell lymphoma of the brain, the eyes, the meninges or the spinal cord in the absence of systemic lymphoma. The management of primary central nervous system lymphoma remains controversial, which is related to the rarity of the cases and the small number of controlled studies available. The present consensus report provides th...

The indolent and favorable clinical course of extranodal B cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue type (MALT lymphoma) of stomach is well known. For both physician and patient, one of the most fearful parts for gastric MALT lymphoma must be the bone marrow aspiration and biopsy (BMAB) rather than the disease itself. Guidelines from authorities still does not reach to a concurrence o...
