Extracellular vesicles (ECVs) are nano-sized vesicles released by all cells in vitro as well as in vivo. Their role has been implicated mainly in cell-cell communication, but also in disease biomarkers and more recently in gene delivery. They represent a snapshot of the cell status at the moment of release and carry bioreactive macromolecules such as nucleic acids, proteins, and lipids. A major...

The new class of wrought γ-γ/ Co-base superalloys, which are based on Co-Al-W system,  was developed by conventional hot working routes with a high volume fraction of γ/ precipitates and good mechanical properties. The aim of the present study was to predict the flow stress and hot deformation modeling of a novel γ-γ/ Co-base superalloy. The hot compression test...

introduction: while little is known about the molecular mechanisms that establish the apical growth patterns in fungal mycelia, recent research on the genetics of a. nidulans and n. crassa has provided considerable amount information on some genes involving in polarised cell growth. a.nidulans is particularly amenable to experimental analysis and is importantly related to other human pathogen f...

two peroxidases (ec. 1.11.1.7), pod i and pod ii were purified from the roots of cultivatedraphanus sativus l. var. cicil by one step ion-exchange chromatography after fractionation by acetone. the molecular weight of these enzymes were 43000 and 41000 daltons and rz 1.2 and 2.0 for pod i and pod ii, respectively. both enzymes consisted of a single polypeptide chain on sds-page. the maximum act...

We present an optical, noninvasive and label-free approach to characterize flow profiles in microfluidic devices. Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering signals were used to map the mass transport in a microfluidic device that was then related back to the local flow rate of dilute solutes having constant fluid properties. Flow characterization was demonstrated in two common types of microfluidic...

The construction and characterization of a flow-through polarographic detector for catalyzing the electroreduction of N-nitrosodiethanolamine (NDELA), is discussed. The flow-through cell is equipped with a gold wire electrode (a thin mercury film deposited on a gold substance). The response is evaluated with respect to substance diameter, length, concentration of modifying film, operating poten...

For G a closed subgroup of S∞, we provide a precise combinatorial characterization of when the universal minimal flow M(G) is metrizable. In particular, each such instance fits into the framework of metrizable flows developed in [KPT] and [NVT]; as a consequence, each G with metrizable universal minimal flow has the generic point property, i.e. every minimal G-flow has a point whose orbit is co...

It was conjectured by Tutte that every 4-edge-connected graph admits a nowherezero 3-flow. In this paper, we give a complete characterization of graphs whose squares admit nowhere-zero 3-flows and thus confirm Tutte’s 3-flow conjecture for the family of squares of graphs.

Static Single Assignment Form benefits data flow analysis by its static guarantees on the definitions and uses of variables. In this paper, we show how to exploit these guarantees to enable a sparse data flow analysis of variable predicates, for gaining a rich predicate-based and path-oriented characterization of a program’s variables’ values.

The recent tomo-PIV technique is presented and apply to a pulsed jet in cross-flow. This technique gives the instantaneous three-dimensional velocity field in a fat sheet (typically the depth of the measurement volume is a tenth of the other dimensions). The results presented here show the applicability of the technique to the characterization of a complex three-dimensional flow.
