The existence of coincidence points and common fixed points for four mappings satisfying generalized contractive conditions without exploiting the notion of continuity of any map involved therein, in a cone metric space is proved. These results extend, unify and generalize several well known comparable results in the existing literature. 2010 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
We prove common fixed point theorems for the newly introduced “occasionally Cq-commuting” mappings satisfying generalized non expansive condition using subsequential continuity of the mappings involved. Our results are more general than many recent results existing in the literature. Mathematics Subject Classification: 54H25, 47H10
Varadhan’s integration theorem, one of the corner stones of large-deviation theory, is generalized to the context of capacities. The theorem appears valid for any integral that obeys four linearity properties. We introduce a collection of integrals that have these properties. Of one of them, known as the Choquet integral, some continuity properties are established as well.
In this paper, using the concept of w-distances on a metric space, we first prove a generalized fixed point theorem for mappings without continuity in a complete metric space. Using this result, we obtain new and well-known fixed point theorems in a complete metric space.
We aim at decomposing molecular surfaces which are in the form of Van der Waals model into a structure adapted for mesh-free modeling. We focus on the generation of spherical patches by using rational Bézier surfaces and homogeneous coordinates. We can achieve exact global continuity by using generalized stereographic projection. We support the theoretical descriptions by practical decompositio...
Incomplete preferences over lotteries on a finite set of alternatives satisfying, besides independence and continuity, a property called bad outcome aversion are considered. These preferences are characterized in terms of their specific multi-expected utility representations (cf. Dubra et al., 2004), and can be seen as generalized stochastic dominance preferences. Using local interpolation ofWhitney functions, we generalize the Pawłucki and Pleśniak approach to construct a continuous linear extension operator. We show the continuity of the modified operator in the case of generalized Cantor-type sets without Markov’s Property. © 2004 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. In the present paper, we generalize Zygmund classes of functions with two variables defined by Móricz by means of modulus of continuity, and give the necessary and sufficient conditions for double sine, sine-cosine, cosinesine and double cosine series so that their sums belong to the generalized Zygmund classes. Some new results of Fülöp [1] and [2] on double trigonometric series are extended.
This paper deals with continuity preservation when minimizing generalized total variation with a L fidelity term or a Dirichlet boundary condition. We extend several recent results for these two types of data terms, mainly by showing comparison principles for the prescribed mean curvature problem satisfied by the level-sets of such minimizers. MSC2010: 49N60, 53A10, 94A08.
The purpose of this paper is to introduce and investigate the concept of fuzzy almost r-minimal continuous function between fuzzy minimal spaces and fuzzy topological spaces. Particularly, we investigate characterizations for the fuzzy almost r-minimal continuity by using generalized fuzzy r-open sets.
