Footrot, including interdigital dermatitis, is caused by Dichelobacter nodosus cause the majority of lameness in sheep in the UK. Lame sheep often have overgrown hoof horn but recent evidence has indicated that trimming overgrown hoof horn increases recovery time, and that routine foot trimming of the flock does not reduce the prevalence or incidence of lameness. The objectives of this study we...

This paper reports on a quite large experience in implementing a procedurally introspective system (PIS), ALICE, in which a well known problem is faced: the integration between LISP and Horn clauses. This exercise is motivated by a recognized lack of experience in implementing PISs to deal with actual A.I. programming problems. ALICE is composed of two procedurally introspective languages based...

The article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the interpretation Hippolytus Rome (170-235 AD) Dan. 8 book Daniel. hermeneutic principles theologian in apocalyptic symbols are presented and showed their specifics. It has been found that first interpreted symbol "little horn" (Dan. 8:9-12) as Antiochus IV Epiphanes among early Christian writers. This followed today by Preterist Futurist s...

BACKGROUND Previous work has shown the importance of restoring the normal structure of the native meniscus with meniscal allograft transplantation. PURPOSE/HYPOTHESIS The purpose of this study was to compare the anatomic positions of the anterior horn and posterior horn between the preoperative medial meniscus and the postoperative meniscal allograft after medial meniscal allograft transplant...

We characterise finite axiomatisability and intractability of deciding membership for universal Horn classes generated by finite loop-free hypergraphs. A universal Horn class is a class of model-theoretic structures of the same signature, closed under taking ultraproducts (Pu), direct products over nonempty families (P) and isomorphic copies of substructures (S); see [9, 17, 30, 32] for example...

In this paper we study several classes of Boolean formulae which generalize Horn formulae while preserving one of their main properties, namely the fact that satisfiability is decidable in polynomial time. We compare the known classes with respect to inclusion and define a hierarchy of new classes, which properly contains some of the known classes. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

We introduce First Order ProbLog, an extension of first order logic with soft constraints where formulas are guarded by probabilistic facts. The paper defines a semantics for FOProbLog, develops a translation into ProbLog, a system that allows a user to compute the probability of a query in a similar setting restricted to Horn clauses, and reports on initial experience with inference.
