Leaves can be categorized based on various physical attributes but the most popular attribute is shape. For example, we can use „shape‟ as a criterion to differentiate between a mango leaf and a banana leaf. Ideally this criterion can be of immense help to the user of an image database that stores, for instance, the images of different kinds of leaves. The user would often wish to retrieve imag...

The characteristic parameters of Citrus grandis var. Longanyou canopies are important when measuring yield and spraying pesticides. However, the feasibility canopy reconstruction method based on point clouds has not been confirmed with these canopies. Therefore, LiDAR cloud data for C. were obtained to facilitate management groves this species. Then, a cloth simulation filter European clusterin...

Achieving optimal efficiency, good performance, and cost-effectiveness is the main challenge in ship design. Using a bulbous bow part of attaining an excellent design to reduce drag dynamic load caused by waves slamming. The commonly determined shape geometric based on laboratory testing or computer optimization. This article compares probability slamming into catamaran NPL hull without with bo...

We formulate a theory of shape valid for objects arbitrary dimension whose contours are path connected. apply this to the design and modeling viable trajectories complex dynamical systems. Infinite families qualitatively similar shapes constructed giving as input finite ordered set characteristic points (landmarks) value continuous parameter κ∈(0,∞). prove that all belonging same family located...

A numerical optimization approach is presented to optimize passive broadband detection performance of hull arrays through the adjustment of array shading weights. The approach is developed for general hull arrays in low signal-to-noise ratio scenarios, and is shown to converge rapidly to optimal solutions that maximize the array's deflection coefficient. The beamformer is not redesigned in this...

An automated practical multi-objective optimisation scheme is proposed for ship hull modification. A shift transformation and a self-blending method are sequentially performed based on resistance objectives at multi-design speeds. The Lackenby variation alters forms produces initial designs. Subsequently, combines obtained ships to cover design space. All processes by MATLAB coding that connect...

Non-oscillatory discretization methods based on the Local Extremum Diminishing principle, which were originally devised for compressible flow, are applied to the free-surface evolution equation. More specifically, both symmetric and upstream limited schemes are utilized in the calculation of the flow about the Series 60 hull, a naval frigate hull with sonar dome and transom stern, and a fully c...

We consider two non-convex enclosing shapes with the minimum area; the L-shape and the quadrant hull. This paper proposes efficient algorithms computing each of two shapes enclosing a set of points with the minimum area over all orientations. The algorithms run in time quadratic in the number of given points by efficiently maintaining the set of extremal points.
