We propose a procedure to measure the Z 0 line shape and take full advantage of the superb performance of the CERN e + e − Collider LEP. A precise determination of the total cross section at 5 energies is needed for a model-independent analysis of the data and for a precision test of the QED initial state radiation from the fully inclusive hadronic channel.

A combination is presented of the inclusive diffractive cross section measurements made by the H1 and ZEUS Collaborations at HERA. The analysis uses diffractive deep inelastic scattering data selected by means of proton spectrometers. Correlations of systematic uncertainties are taken into account by the combination method, resulting in improved precision.

An overview of the preliminary results of the top quark pair production cross section measurements at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV carried out by the CDF and DØ collaborations is presented. The data samples used for the analyses are collected in the current Tevatron run and correspond to an integrated luminosity from 360 pb −1 up to 760 pb −1 .

The X(3872) is universally accepted to be an exotic hadron. In this letter we assume that the X(3872) is a D 0 ¯ D * 0 molecule, as claimed by many authors, and attempt an estimate of its prompt production cross section at Tevatron. A comparison with CDF data allows to draw some qualitative conclusions about this statement.
