In this paper, different kinds of optical performance monitoring (OPM) techniques, in particular the optical signal-tonoise ratio (OSNR) monitoring and chromatic dispersion (CD) monitoring, are reviewed. Then recent trend of multipleparameter simultaneous monitoring is examined.
