Highly active magnetically recyclable hollow nanocomposite catalysts with a permeable carbon surface have been prepared by a simple, economical and scalable process. The designed nanocomposite exhibited excellent catalytic activities in the selective reduction of nitroarenes and Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. The catalysts could be easily separated by a magnet, and recycled consecutively.

The tubular nanocomposite with well-dispersed distribution of small gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) assembled on the inside and outside surfaces of silica nanotubes (SNTs) was fabricated by combining the single capillary electrospinning technique and an in situ reduction approach. The AuNPs/SNTs nanocomposite exhibited a good catalytic activity for reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP).

We investigate the structure of polystyrene-b-poly(acrylic acid, sodium salt) copolymer in aqueous solutions. We offer detailed characterization of the micellar solutions by scattering techniques and show that they form hexagonal-packed cylinders. The micelles follow the swelling law expected for cylinders, upon addition of water, down to a concentration threshold below which the distance cylin...

In this study, thermo elastic stress analysis is performed on a cylinder made of laminated isotropic materials under thermomechanical loads. Laminated cylinders have many applications such as aerospace, automotive and nuclear plant in the industry. These cylinders generally performed under thermomechanical loads. Stress and displacement distribution of the laminated cylinders are determined usi...

Because of their magnetic properties, magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have numerous diverse biomedical applications. In addition, because of their ability to penetrate bacteria and biofilms, nanoantimicrobial agents have become increasingly popular for the control of infectious diseases. Here, MNPs were prepared through an iron salt coprecipitation method in an alkaline medium, followed by a chit...

A sulfhydryl-lignocellulose/montmorillonite (SLT) nanocomposite was prepared using a chemical intercalation reaction. The SLT nanocomposite was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), the results demonstrated that an intercalated-exfoliated nanostructure was formed i...

The deterioration of bond strength between reinforcing steel and concrete as a result of impressed cathodic current with respect to the exposure time was investigated. A current in the magnitude of 3ma/ft2 (based on reinforcing rebar area) was used for a period of five years. Chemical analyses for sodium (Na+), potassium (K+) and chloride (Cl-) ions in concrete cylinders were performed as a fun...

In this paper, the reconstruction mechanism of the boundary layer in the channel is studied using the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). By comparing the distribution of velocity in the channel, the conclusion that LBM has feasibility and superiority is obtained. Based on this, a physical model of square cylinders is set up to simulate the velocity distribution and the effect on the thickness of b...

ABSTRACT This study is concerned with the simulation of viscous flow past three equal diameter circular cylinders in equilateral-triangular arrangement. The hydrodynamic characteristics of cylinders are modelled by a 2Dlattice Boltzmann kernel which is constructed employing Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) interface developed by nVIDIA. Computations using the developed kernel are perf...

(i) A set is a cylinder if and only if it is an ^-cylinder for each n > 1. (ii) The class of all (n+l)-cylinders is a proper subset of the class of all π-cylinders for each n > 1. (iii) For each n > 1, the class of all ^-cylinders contains a simple set and hence a nonsplinter. (iv) For each n > 1, the class of all ^-cylinders contains a nonsimple nonsplinter. (v) A set P is an ^-cylinder (n > 1...
