Due to its open characteristic, the Web is being posted with vast amount of new information changes continuously. Consequently, at any time, it is conceivable that there will be hot issues (emerging topics) being discussed in any information area on the Web. However, it is not practical for the user to browse the Web manually all the time for the changes. Thus, we need this Emerging Topic Track...

As regularly and as certainly, as century succeeds century, or progeny progenitors; we find it difficult to account for that secret principle which prompts us to expend so much labopr, learning, health, wealth, and irrevocable time, in the construction of literary edifices, which, however majestic or beautiful in themselves, have their foundations necessarily washed by an ever-moving tide that ...

An integrative review of three theories that explain why some individuals engage in persistent pursuit—coercive control theory, relational goal pursuit, and attachment theory— is presented. The meta-analytic evidence pointing to persistent pursuit as a gendered behavior is reviewed, and coercive control theory is used to explain gender differences. The strong conceptual and empirical overlap be...

1.1. Three surprises of high dimensions. This paper develops asymptotic methods to count faces of random high-dimensional polytopes; a seemingly dry and unpromising pursuit. Yet our conclusions have surprising implications in statistics, probability, information theory, and signal processing with potential impacts in practical subjects like medical imaging and digital communications. Before inv...

The compound LLPNP crystallizes in orthorhombic system, P21 21 21 space group with four molecules in the asymmetric unit. The crystal data for LLPNP is tabled. The lysine molecule (C1-C6/N1/N2/O1/O2) is protonated while the paranitrophenol molecule is deprotonated (C7-C12/N3/O3/O4/O5). The paranitrophenol moiety makes a dihedral angle of 85.87 (9)° with the lysine moiety which shows that they a...

research article (ra) genre has been a significant area of research in academic writing over past decades. however, authors’ identity in ras has not received much attention, especially in soft sciences like applied linguistics. this paper reports a corpus analysis of iranian writers’ authorial presence markers in ras in the field of applied linguistics. the corpus comprised 30 ras (200,000 word...

We present a new approach to implementing arrays in a pure lazy functional programming language. The arrays can be updated destructively by using uniqueness typing, and the elements can be unboxed. We describe the implementation of these arrays in the functional programming language Clean 1.1. The performance of two sorting algorithms and a fast fourier transformation written in Clean using arr...

We redefine the uniqueness type system of the functional programming language Clean for the lambda calculus. Our treatment of curried functions is very different from their treatment in Clean, resulting in a much simpler type system (for example, the subtyping relation in Clean is no longer necessary). Further, our system supports arbitrary rank types, which has the additional benefit that we c...

We consider a join-the-shortest-queue model which is as follows. There are K single FIFO servers and M arrival processes. The customers from a given arrival process can be served only by servers from a certain subset of all servers. The actual destination is the server with the smallest weighted queue length. The arrival processes are assumed to obey a large deviation principle while the servic...

A set of small nonpeptidic diaryl phosphonate inhibitors was prepared. The phosphonate derivatives were synthesized through Birum-Oleksyszyn reaction followed by reduction of the nitro-group which undergo to Boc-protected guanidine derivatives. After removing of Boc-group by TFAA/DCM afford the guanidine phosphonates.
