For r ∈ N\{0} an r-edge coloring of a graph or hypergraph G = (V,E) is a map c : E → {0, . . . , r−1}. Extending results of Rado and answering questions of Rado, Gyárfás and Sárközy we prove that • every r-edge colored complete k-uniform hypergraph on N can be partitioned into r monochromatic tight paths with distinct colors (a tight path in a kuniform hypergraph is a sequence of distinct verti...

BACKGROUND The Hamiltonian Path Problem asks whether there is a route in a directed graph from a beginning node to an ending node, visiting each node exactly once. The Hamiltonian Path Problem is NP complete, achieving surprising computational complexity with modest increases in size. This challenge has inspired researchers to broaden the definition of a computer. DNA computers have been develo...

Grid graphs are subgraphs of the infinite 2-dimensional integer grid. The Hamiltonian path problem for general grid graphs is a well-known NP-complete problem. In this paper, we present necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a Hamiltonian path between two given vertices in L−shaped grid graphs. We also show that a Hamiltonian path between two given vertices of a L−shaped grid ...

For a graph G and a positive integer k, a subset S of vertices of G is called a k-path vertex cover if every path of order k in G contains at least one vertex from S. The cardinality of a minimum k-path vertex cover is denoted by ψk(G). In this paper, we present the exact values of ψk in some product graphs of stars and complete graphs.

let g=(v,e) be a simple graph. an edge labeling f:e to {0,1} induces a vertex labeling f^+:v to z_2 defined by $f^+(v)equiv sumlimits_{uvin e} f(uv)pmod{2}$ for each $v in v$, where z_2={0,1} is the additive group of order 2. for $iin{0,1}$, let e_f(i)=|f^{-1}(i)| and v_f(i)=|(f^+)^{-1}(i)|. a labeling f is called edge-friendly if $|e_f(1)-e_f(0)|le 1$. i_f(g)=v_f(1)-v_f(0) is called the edge-f...

We show that to each graceful labelling of a path on 2s + 1 vertices, s ≥ 2, there corresponds a current assignment on a 3-valent graph which generates at least 22s cyclic oriented triangular embeddings of a complete graph on 12s + 7 vertices. We also show that in this correspondence, two distinct graceful labellings never give isomorphic oriented embeddings. Since the number of graceful labell...

We study problems of reconfigurability of independent sets in graphs. We consider three different models (token jumping, token sliding, and token addition and removal) and analyze relationships between them. We prove that independent set reconfigurability in perfect graphs (under any of the three models) generalizes the shortest path reconfigurability problem in general graphs and is therefore ...

Let G be a (p, q) graph. Let f : V (G) → {1, 2, . . . , k} be a map. For each edge uv, assign the label gcd (f(u), f(v)). f is called k-prime cordial labeling of G if |vf (i) − vf (j)| ≤ 1, i, j ∈ {1, 2, . . . , k} and |ef (0) − ef (1)| ≤ 1 where vf (x) denotes the number of vertices labeled with x, ef (1) and ef (0) respectively denote the number of edges labeled with 1 and not labeled with 1....

The problem of deciding, given a graph G and two vertices s and t, whether there exists an induced path of given parity between s and t in G is known to be NP-complete. We show how to solve the problem in O(|V (G)|) time, when the input graph is planar. We use techniques from the theory of graph minors as well as the theory of perfect graphs.
