Particle in Cell (PIC) codes are widely used in the simulation of many plasma related systems (E.g.: Laser plasma interactions, high power microwave sources). A detailed simulation of these systems requires parallel computing facility with faster CPUs with efficient interconnects. We have setup a 33 node Xeon (Dual socket and Dual core) cluster with double data rate Infiniband interconnect in a...
A novel approach for studying positron acceleration physics without an external positron source is developed. This scheme uses an e beam to both create positrons in a target before the plasma and to excite the wake that accelerates these positrons. 2-D PIC simulations show that ultra-short e bunches can be focused and accelerated.

Abstract The study on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)-based composites in dental applications has gained much interest recent years, resulting many exciting studies worldwide. In those research, various filler types of reinforcing PMMA have been studied extensively. This combines the microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) particles (0, 1, 2, 3, 5 vol.%) and sisal fiber to strengthen PMMA. We investiga...
the fungal disease, ascochyta blight, caused by ascochyta rabiei is a major yield limiting factor of chickpea (cicer arietinum l.) in many countries, including iran. identification of resistance sources against races or pathotypes of the fungus causing this disease is required for breeding resistant chickpea cultivars. reaction of six selected genotypes of iranian chickpea collection was evalua...
Fluid codes are widely used to model Hall thrusters because of their simplicity and low computational demands. However, they have not been successful in describing all the physics of Hall thrusters. On the other hand, PIC codes (Particle In Cell) are powerful for simulating microscopic phenomena. Their drawback is the requirement in the number of particles in order to achieve good results. This...
In order to simulate global magnetogydrodynamic phenomena in tokamaks, a new gyrokinetic PIC (particle-in-cell) code, Gpic-MHD, is developed. Gpic-MHD is written in cylindrical geometry and has single-helicity (two-dimensional) version and multi-helicity (three-dimensional) version. The kinetic internal kink mode is successfully simulated and compared with the results of gyro-reduced-MHD (GRM) ...
Hall effect thrusters are yet not fully understood due to multiple open questions, among which the anomalous electron transport is most challenging. Particle-In-Cell (PIC) simulations suggested that strongly affected by small-scale instabilities can be investigated experimentally using Collective Thomson Scattering (CTS). In this paper, we perform a virtual CTS diagnostic on PIC data in order i...
