A family of nanostructured polyaniline (PANI) materials including polystyrene (PS)/PANI core/shell particles, PANI hollow spheres, PANI/PS nanocomposite and nanoporous PANI, were conveniently prepared by surface charge control of PS nanoparticle templates which resulted in different polymer growth mechanisms when PANI was electropolymerized around the templates.

The reduction of graphite oxide (GO) in the presence of reactive poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), under mild biphasic conditions, directly affords graphene grafted with PMMA. The resulting nanocomposite shows excellent electrical conductivities resulting from the optimal dispersion and exfoliation of graphene in the polymer matrix.

We report on a facile spray deposition method, which allows obtaining nanocomposite membranes for high-temperature polymer fuel cells characterized by high homogeneity and excellent proton conductivity. The proposed method is also green, as it requires much smaller amounts of solvents with respect to standard casting.

Highly ordered radially aligned microchannels are produced on the surface of polymer nanocomposite thin films via droplet evaporation. This simple, rapid, and cost-effective approach opens a new avenue for producing macroscopic surface patterns that have potential as scaffolds or substrates in the field of microelectronics or microfluidic-based biochips.
