In this paper we revisit Pustejovsky's proposal to treat ontologically complex word meaning by socalled dotted pairs. We use a higherorder feature logic based on Ohori's record -calculus to model the semantics of words like book and library, in particular their behavior in the context of quanti cation and cardinality statements.

We discuss a model for the integer quantum Hall effect which is based on a Schroedinger-Chern-Simons-action functional for a non-interacting system of electrons in an electromagnetic field on a mutiply connected manifold. In this model the integer values of the Hall conductivity arises in view of the quanti-zation of the Chern-Simons-action functional for electromagnetic potential.

We discuss the aximatic basis of quantum mechanics and show that it is neither general nor consistent, since it does not incorporate the magnetic quantization as in the cyclotron motion and the flux quantization. A general and consistent system of axioms is conjectured which incorporates also the magnetic quanti-zation.

The title compound, C(15)H(13)N(3)O(4), was synthesized by the reaction of equimolar quanti-ties of 2-methoxy-benzaldehyde and 2-nitro-benzohydrazide in methanol. The dihedral angle between the two substituted benzene rings is 68.3 (2)°. In the crystal structure, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds occur.

We investigate extensions of CTL allowing to express quantitative requirements about an abstract notion of time in a simple discretetime framework, and study the expressive power of several relevant logics. When only subscripted modalities are used, polynomial-time model checking is possible even for the largest logic we consider, while introducing freeze quanti ers leads to a complexity blow-up.
