In this paper, we consider multivariate interpolation with radial basis functions of finite smoothness. In particular, we show that interpolants by radial basis functions in R with finite smoothness of even order converge to a polyharmonic spline interpolant as the scale parameter of the radial basis functions goes to zero, i.e., the radial basis functions become increasingly flat.

A Bayesian framework for the analysis of radial basis functions (RBF) is proposed which readily accommodates uncertainty in the dimension of the model. A distribution is deened over the space of all RBF models of a given basis function and posteriors are computed using reversible jump Markov chain Monte Carlo samplers (Green, 1995). This alleviates the need to select one particular architecture...

We perform a detailed analysis of solutions of the inverse problem applied to experimentally measured two dimensional radial distribution functions for highly charged latex dispersions. The experiments are carried out at high colloidal densities and under low-salt conditions. At the highest densities studied, the extracted effective pair potentials contain a long-range attractive part. At the s...

Electric potential measurement technique (tomography) was introduced as a nondestructive method to evaluate concrete properties and durability. In this study, numerical meshless method was developed to solve a differential equation which simulates electric potential distribution for concrete with inclusion in two dimensions. Therefore, concrete samples with iron block inclusion in different loc...

background: early and non-invasive determination of blood glucose level is of great importance. we aimed to present a new technique to accurately infer the blood glucose concentration in peripheral blood flow using non-invasive optical monitoring system. methods: the data for the research were obtained from 900 individuals. of them, 750 people had diabetes mellitus (dm). the system was designed...

This paper presents a new direct matrix inversion-less analysis for radial distribution systems (RDSs). The method can successfully deal with weakly meshed distribution systems. (WMDSs). Being easy to implement, direct methods (DMs) provide an excellent performance. Matrix inversion is the mean reason of divergence and low-efficiency in power flow algorithms. In this paper, the performance of t...

This study investigates the time-dependent long-term creep strain in a composite cylinder made of glass/vinylester with a unidirectional ply. The cylinder is subjected to an internal pressure and the boundary condition is free–free and acts as thermal insulation. The classical lamination theory (CLT) is used to derive the governing equations as a second-order equation to determine the radial, c...

The reconstruction of spectral function from correlation in Euclidean space is a challenging task. In this paper, we employ the Machine Learning techniques terms radial basis functions networks to reconstruct finite number data. To test our method, first generate one type data using mock by mixing several Breit-Wigner propagators. We found that compared with other traditional methods, TSVD, Tik...

In this paper, exact closed-form solutions for displacement and stress components of thick-walled functionally graded (FG) spherical pressure vessels are presented. To this aim, linear variation of properties, as an important case of the known power-law function model is used to describe the FG material distribution in thickness direction. Unlike the pervious studies, the vessels can have arbit...

In irrigation scheduling, one question is “how much is the optimal depth?”. In this study the optimal irrigation depth (by assuming the power distribution function and by taking into consideration the distribution function, which governs the data (normal distribution)) by considering the environmental effects was determined for three water management strategies (i. e. unlimited, limited nitroge...
