It is known that the space of real valued, continuous functions C(B) over a multidimensional compact domain B ⊂ R , k ≥ 2 does not admit Haar spaces, which means that interpolation problems in finite dimensional subspaces V of C(B) may not have a solutions in C(B). The corresponding standard short and elegant proof does not apply to complex valued functions over B ⊂ C. Nevertheless, in this sit...

In this paper we aim at an analog characterization of the classical P 6= NP conjecture of Structural Complexity. We consider functions over continuous real and complex valued variables. Subclasses of functions can be defined using Laplace transforms adapted to continuous-time computation, introducing analog classes DAnalog and NAnalog. We then show that if DAnalog 6= NAnalog then P 6= NP .

it is firstly proved that the multi-input-single-output (miso) fuzzy systems based on interval-valued $r$- and $s$-implications can approximate any continuous function defined on a compact set to arbitrary accuracy.  a formula to compute the lower upper bounds on the number  of interval-valued fuzzy sets needed to achieve a pre-specified approximation  accuracy for an arbitrary multivariate con...

It is useful to treat real-valued functions (or complex-valued functions, or vector space-valued functions) as elements of a vector space, so that the tools from linear algebra can be applied. Given a set X one may consider the vector space R of all real-valued functions with domain X. If X is finite, say with n elements, then this is just the familiar vector space R. The more interesting examp...

We analyze the numerical representability of total preorders defined on semitopological real algebras through continuous order-preserving real-valued functions that are also additive and multiplicative. The results obtained are used to interpret important concepts arising in Social Choice theory.
