An analysis of the transient behavior dc networks consisting voltage sources, capacitors, and series loss-free resistors (SLFRs) is presented. The realization an SLFR was achieved by means a topological variation positive output buck-boost converter operated in discontinuous-conduction mode. It demonstrated that even simple RC circuits containing SLFRs exhibit described Abel nonlinear different...

A general procedure is outlined for optimizing the damping of an input filter using a single resistor. This procedure is employed to derive the equations governing optimal damping of several basic filter circuits. Design tradeoffs are discussed. Additional criteria are derived that allow employment of these results in design of multiple-section cascaded filters with damping.

To stabilize the feedback loop of a PLL a lead-lag filter is used, implemented by driving the charge-pump current to a series resistor capacitor network [1]. While many designs have created the needed resistor using the resistance of an amplifier [2], and even made this resistor track the operating frequency [3], all these loops suffer from periodic noise on the control voltage caused by the sm...

Introduction: Non-linear resistive grids have been proposed 1,2 for image filtering and segmentation. In these implementations, smoothing of noisy data is obtained through the low pass filtering behavior of these resistive grids for small voltage differences between neighboring pixels. Two different methods are used to obtain segmentation with these resistive grids. One is to use so the called ...

The effective complex conductivity σeff of a two-component material can be conveniently expressed as an integral transformation of a spectral function. The spectral function depends only on the geometry of the material, and can be used to calculate σeff for any particular choice of component conductivities. This is a very useful feature if the component conductivities can be varied (by changing...

We introduce a novel inversion algorithm for electrical impedance tomography in two dimensions, based on a model reduction approach. The reduced models are resistor networks that arise in five point stencil discretizations of the elliptic partial differential equation satisfied by the electric potential, on adaptive grids that are computed as part of the problem. We prove the unique solvability...

We study the effective resistance of small-world resistor networks. Utilizing recent analytic results for the propagator of the Edwards-Wilkinson process on small-world networks, we obtain the asymptotic behavior of the disorder-averaged two-point resistance in the large system-size limit. We find that the small-world structure suppresses large network resistances: both the average resistance a...

In neurophysiological investigation there is often need for a device which can precisely control the duration and repetition rate of a volley of electrical stimuli delivered to the tissue under observation. An electronic circuit (Fig. 1 ) was designed and built to meet that need. The circuit has three main components-the gating, univibrator, and pacemaker tubes. The gating tube (6SN7) is a cath...

We study the current flow paths between two edges in a random resistor network on a L X L square lattice. Each resistor has resistance e(ax) , where x is a uniformly distributed random variable and a controls the broadness of the distribution. We find that: (a) The scaled variable u identical with u congruent to L/a(nu) , where nu is the percolation connectedness exponent, fully determines the ...

Under some relaxed conditions, in this paper we obtain some equivalent conditions on the asymptotics of the density of the supremum of a random walk with heavy-tailed increments. To do this, we investigate the asymptotics of the first ascending ladder height of a randomwalk with heavy-tailed increments. The results obtained improve and extend the corresponding classical results.
