Cold-inducible RNA-binding protein (RBM3) is suggested to be involved in the regulation of skeletal muscle mass. Cell death pathways are implicated in the loss of muscle mass and therefore the role of RBM3 in muscle apoptosis in C(2)C(12) myoblasts was investigated in this study. RBM3 overexpression was induced by either cold shock (32°C exposure for 6 h) or transient transfection with a myc-ta...

Background and Aims: The novel approaches in influenza vaccination have targeted more conserved viral proteins such as nucleoprotein (NP) to provide cross protection against all serotypes of influenza A viruses. Influenza specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) are able to lyse influenza-infected cells by recognition of NP, the major target molecule in virus for CTL responses. On the other hand,...

As a continuous eeort to understand the Godunov-type schemes, following the paper \Projection in this paper we are going to study the gas evolution dynamics of the exact and approximate Riemann solvers. More speciically, the underlying dynamics of Flux Vector Splitting (FVS) and Flux Diierence Splitting (FDS) schemes will be analyzed. Since the FVS scheme and the Kinetic Flux Vector Splitting (...

Dengue infection, one of the most devastating mosquito-borne viral diseases in humans, is now a significant problem in several tropical countries. The disease, caused by the four dengue virus serotypes, ranges from asymptomatic infection to undifferentiated fever, dengue fever (DF), and severe dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) with or without shock. DHF is characterized by fever, bleeding diathesi...

We jointly estimate the U.S. business and financial cycle through a unified empirical approach which also simultaneously quantifies role of factors. Our uses Beveridge-Nelson decomposition within medium-scale Bayesian Vector Autoregression. First, we show, both in reduced form when identify structural shock, that variation factors had larger post-2000 more modest pre-2000. results suggest secto...

This paper investigates the effect of a positive technology shock on per capita hours worked within the class of Bayesian Vector Auto-Regressive [BVAR] models. Such a framework avoids the current debate regarding the specification issue of per capita hours [level versus first-difference stationary]. Six priors are considered and for each, we examine the impulse responses of per capita hours fol...

Fragmentation of liquid-metal droplets irradiated by linearly and circularly polarized femtosecond laser pulses is observed in our experiment. The obtained shadowgraph snapshots demonstrate that a pulse may produce several randomly oriented jets effused from the expanding droplets, while generates strictly cruciform jets. latter orientation tied with polarization plane, rotation which causes sa...

Inappropriate shock due to residual air in subcutaneous implantable cardiac defibrillators is not a well-known complication. Obtaining overpenetrated X-rays, recognizing electrocardiogram findings, limiting blunt finger dissection, and switching to sense at another vector are techniques which might lead to avoidance of unnecessary wound exploration or device removal.

An urban epidemic of dengue in Senegal during 2009 affected 196 persons and included 5 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever and 1 fatal case of dengue shock syndrome. Dengue virus serotype 3 was identified from all patients, and Aedes aegypti mosquitoes were identified as the primary vector of the virus.

Seddon and Bearpark present a creative and exciting observation of a reversed Doppler effect when an electromagnetic shock propagates through a transmission line (1). We find that the physical origin of this anomalous effect is fundamentally different from the one suggested by Seddon and Bearpark (that v phase v group Ͻ 0), but that the experimental results can be properly validated with the co...
