The physiological role of titanium in plants has not been elucidated yet , but a higher rate of growth , greater chlorophyll content and higher productivity, among others , may be attributed to this element. We have investigated the distribution of titanium in wheat seedlings after Titavit (a Ti · ascorbate containing plant conditioner) treatment applied either through the leaf or through the r...

Micromotion and fretting wear between bone and Ti-based alloys in stem and dental implants breaks the passive film and exposes the metal to the action of the complex surrounding medium, generating substantial amounts of debris and continuous Ti ion release. In this work, oxidation treatments at low temperatures (277 °C, 5 h) have been used to promote the formation of wear-corrosion resistant ti...

Two novel peroxo titanium complexes, Li(2)(NH(4))(4)[Ti(2)(O(2))(2)(cit)(Hcit)](2).5H(2)O and Zn(NH(4))(4)[Ti(4)(O(2))(4)(Hcit)(2)(cit)(2)].12H(2)O (cit = citrate), show encouraging results in the photochemical oxidation of 2-propanol.

In the title complex mol-ecule, [Ti(C(10)H(15))(2)I], the paramagnetic Ti(III) atom is coordinated by two penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp*) ligands and one iodide ligand. The two Cp* ligands are in a staggered orientation. The coordination geometry at the titanium atom can be described as distorted trigonal-planar.

Reaction zones formed at 790 °C between solid titanium and liquid Ag-Cu eutectic alloys (pure and Ti-saturated) have been characterized. When pure Ag-Cu eutectic alloy with 40 at.% Cu is used, the interface reaction layer sequence is: αTi / Ti2Cu / TiCu / Ti3Cu4 / TiCu4 / L. Because of the fast dissolution rate of Ti in the alloy, the reaction zone remains very thin (3-6 μm) whatever the reacti...

Abstract: titanium sheets in pure molten aluminum at 750 and X-Ray Diffraction Analysis results, TiAlintermetallic layer thickness increases slowly at primary stages. After that an enhanced growth rate occurs due to layercracking and disruption. Presumably, reaction starts with solving titanium into the molten aluminum causing intitanium super saturation and TiAlintermetallic layer which conseq...

This manuscript describes the synthesis of a series of neutral titanium(iv) monomeric complexes constructed around a TiO4N2 core. The two nitrogen atoms that compose the coordination sphere of the metallic center belong to 2,2'-bipyrimidine ligands homo-disubstituted in the 4 and 4' positions by methyl (2a), phenylvinyl (2b), naphthylvinyl (2c) or anthrylvinyl (2d) groups. The crystal structure...

OBJECTIVES The formation of biofilm around implants, which is induced by immediate bacterial colonization after installation, is the primary cause of post-operation infection. Initial surface modification is usually required to incorporate antibacterial agents on titanium (Ti) surfaces to inhibit biofilm formation. However, simple and effective priming methods are still lacking for the developm...
