In this paper we prove that bounded Hua-harmonic functions on tube domains that satisfy some boundary regularity condition are necessarily pluriharmonic. In doing so, we show that a similar theorem is true on one-dimensional extensions of the Heisenberg group or equivalently on the Siegel upper half-plane.

Let ω be a point in the upper half plane, and let Γ be a discrete, finite covolume subgroup of PSL2(R). We conjecture an explicit formula for the pair correlation of the angles between geodesic rays of the lattice Γω, intersected with increasingly large balls centered at ω. We prove this conjecture for Γ = PSL2(Z) and ω an elliptic point.

The analysis of rotational effect on the characteristics of plane waves propagating in a half space of generalized thermo-piezoelectric medium is presented in context of linear theory of thermo-piezoelectricity including Coriolis and centrifugal forces. The governing equations for a rotating generalized thermo-piezoelectric medium are formulated and solved for plane wave solutions to show the p...

in this paper, distributed parameter process systems behavior is studied in frequency domain. based on the dominant gain concept that is developed for such studies, a method is presented to control distributed parameter process systems. by using dominant gain concept, the location of open loop zeros, resulted from the time delay parameter in the process model, were changed from the right half p...

We consider Apollonian circle packings of a half Euclidean plane. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for two such packings to be related by a Euclidean similarity (that is, by translations, reflections, rotations and dilations) and describe explicitly the group of self-similarities of a given packing. We observe that packings with a non-trivial self-similarity correspond to positive re...

In this paper, we build properly embedded singly periodic minimal surfaces which have infinite total curvature in the quotient by their period. These surfaces are constructed by adding a handle to the toroidal half-plane layers defined by H. Karcher. The technics that we use is to solve a Jenkins-Serrin problem over a strip domain and to consider the conjugate minimal surface to the graph.

We establish a convenient necessary and sufficient condition for a multiaffine real polynomial to be stable, and use it to verify that the half-plane property holds for seven small matroids that resisted the efforts of Choe, Oxley, Sokal, and Wagner [5]. In recent years, matroid theory has found connections with certain analytic properties of real multivariate polynomials. These properties are ...

Let A be a bounded, relatively closed subset of the upper half plane H whose complement in H is simply connected. If Bt is a standard complex Brownian motion and τA = inf{t ≥ 0 : Bt 6∈ H \A}, the half-plane capacity hcap(A) is defined as hcap(A) := lim y→∞ y E [Im(BτA)] . This quantity arises in the study of Schramm-Loewner Evolutions (SLE). In this note, we show that hcap(A) is comparable to a...

Murota et al. have recently developed a theory of discrete convex analysis which concerns M -convex and L-convex functions on jump systems. We introduce here a family of M -concave functions arising naturally from polynomials (over the field of Puiseux series) with prescribed non-vanishing properties. This family contains several of the most studied M -concave functions in the literature. We al...
