Probability weighting functions relate objective probabilities and their subjective weights, and play a central role in modeling choices under risk within cumulative prospect theory. While several different parametric forms have been proposed, their qualitative similarities make it challenging to discriminate among them empirically. In this paper, we use both simulation and choice experiments t...

Fractured reservoirs contain about 85 and 90 percent of oil and gas resources respectively in Iran. A comprehensive study and investigation of fractures as the main factor affecting fluid flow or perhaps barrier seems necessary for reservoir development studies. High degrees of heterogeneity and sparseness of data have incapacitated conventional deterministic methods in fracture network modelin...

Regularization is necessary for inversion of ill-posed geophysical problems. Appraisal of inverse models is essential to a meaningful interpretation of these models. Because uncertainties are associated with regularization parameters, extra conditions are usually required to determine proper parameters for assessing inverse models. Commonly used techniques for assessment of a geophysical invers...

paper proposes a new design procedure of a fixed-structure robust controller for the joint space control of a pneumatic robot arm. The proposed technique is based on the concept of H ∞ loop shaping which is a sensible method for robust controller design. However, in conventional H ∞ loop shaping, the order of the controller is much higher than that of the plant. It is not easy to implement this...

This study proposed a weighting function for a dynamic (DP) programming approach as the cost function to handle beat tracking. The function is utilized to adapt bandwidth of tempo deviation which reciprocal represents likelihood of relative beat position. The beat tracking surpass those scores of other algorithms for MAZ dataset, in which seven out of ten performance indexes outperforms in MIRE...

We present an application of the context weighting algorithm. Our objective is to classify objects with decision trees. The best tree will be searched for with the Minimum Description Length Principle. In order to find these trees, we modified the context weighting algorithm.
