A retrospective review of paracoccidioidomycosis cases seen between January 1966 to January 1997 revealled 27 of the 627 cases occurred in women (male to female ratio 27.3:1). Data for 23 of these 27 cases demonstrated the protective effect of female hormones.

The common species and subgenotypes causing cryptosporidiosis were studied in 394 children and 627 animals with diarrhea in Vellore in southern India. Although no zoonotic strains were identified in 13 infected children, 1 of 12 infected animals had C. hominis, indicating the potential for cross-species transmission. This study also reports C. xiaoi for the first time in India.

The performance of the Acceptability E-scale was tested in a sample of 627 adult and older adult patients from various oncology clinics who completed an electronic symptoms survey. The revised Acceptability E-scale has strong psychometric properties and can be useful in assessing the acceptability and usability of computerized health-related programs in oncology and other health population.
