In the present study biodegradation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) compound Naphthalene by four bacterial cultures Bacillus subtilis PD6, Bacillussp. PD9, Enterobactersp. PD11 and PD14 has been targeted. Biodegradation these selected was analysed HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) technique. analysis revealed naphthalene all within a span six days. Highest 78.1% shown PD6 w...
Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Achromobacter sp. strain DMS1, which is 4.9 Mbp and has 3,727 coding sequences (CDSs), and is capable of degrading xenobiotic compounds and harboring genes for aromatic hydrocarbon metabolism. Its genome will unravel the basic mechanism involved in bioremediation of anthropogens.
Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Marinobacter hydrocarbonoclasticus strain STW2, which was isolated from the rhizosphere of seagrass Enhalus acodoides This study will facilitate future studies on the genetic pathways of marine microbes capable of both polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon degradation and nitrate reduction.
Oceanibaculum indicum type strain P24 was isolated from a polycyclic-aromatic-hydrocarbon-degrading consortium enriched from a deep-seawater sample collected from the Indian Ocean. Here we present the draft genome of strain P24(T), which contains 3,952,792 bp with a G+C content of 65.5% and contains 3,755 protein-coding genes and 45 tRNAs.
7,12-DimethyIbenz(a)anthracene, a carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compound, significantly en hanced the transplantability and stimulated the growth of a pituitary tumor in rats. Estrogen was less effective than 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracne. The combination of 7,12dimethylbenz(a)anthracene and estrogen showed a synergistic effect. Hormone production by the tumor was not impaired by...
Pseudomonas resinovorans strain CA10 can grow on carbazole as its sole carbon and nitrogen source. Here, we report the complete nucleotide sequence of the CA10 genome (a 6,285,863-bp chromosome and a 198,965-bp plasmid). CA10 carries a larger number of genes that are potentially responsible for aromatic hydrocarbon metabolism than do other previously sequenced Pseudomonas spp.
Cobetia sp. strain MM1IDA2H-1 is a marine bacterium isolated from seawater samples that uses the heterocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon dibenzothiophene as the sole carbon source and produces a biosurfactant that inhibits bacterial quorum sensing. The Cobetia sp. MM1IDA2H-1 genome was sequenced, processed, assembled, and annotated for basic and applied studies.
Peptides that specifically bind to the simplest polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, naphthalene, were obtained by affinity-based screening using a phage-displayed peptide library. The identified peptide with a β-turn structure showed specific binding to naphthalene present not only on substrates but also in aqueous solutions.
Advenella kashmirensis strain W13003 is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH)-degrading bacterium isolated from PAH-contaminated marine sediments. Here, we report the 4.8-Mb draft genome sequence of this strain, which will provide insights into the diversity of A. kashmirensis and the mechanism of PAH degradation in the marine environment.
