In the present study, silver nanoparticles were synthesized by decomposition of AgNO3 via gelcasting. Methacrylamide was used as a low toxic monomer for gel formation. Effect of monomer content (MAM), cross-linker to monomer ratio (MBAM/MAM), silver salt to monomer ratio (AgNO3/MAM), duration of calcination, and temperature of calcination were investigated to optimize the size of nanoparticles....

the mononuclear gd(iii) complex, [gd(l)3(h2o)5] (where l is alizarin yellow r (nac13h8n3o5)), has been prepared in h2o under reflux condition. the gd(iii) complex has been characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic methods (uv–vis and ft–ir). the gd2o3 nanoparticles were prepared by the calcination of the gd(iii) complex in air at different temperatures up to 600 °c for 2 h. the calc...

The presence of elevated concentration of arsenic in water sources is considered to be health hazard globally. Calcination process is known to change the surface efficacy of the adsorbent. In current study, five adsorbent composites: uncalcined and calcined Fe3O4-HBC prepared at different temperatures (400°C and 1000°C) and environment (air and nitrogen) were investigated for the adsorptive rem...

We present the assembly of preformed antimony doped tin oxide nanobuilding blocks into centimeter sized aerogels with surface areas exceeding 340 m(2) g(-1). After calcination, the resistivity of the aerogels was decreased by 4 orders of magnitude to a few kΩ cm, with the primary conducting structures measuring only a few nanometers.

Mesoporous hollow fibres of MnCo2O4 and CoMn2O4 were synthesized by electrospinning and highly exothermic oxygen-mediated combustion reactions during calcination, in which the heating rate affected the final fibre morphology (e.g., single- or double-shell). The anodes consisting of hollow fibres showed excellent electrochemical properties for lithium-ion batteries.

A composite zeolite adsorbent was prepared by conformally depositing an ultrathin porous TiO2 coating on the external surface of the 5A zeolite by molecular layer deposition (MLD) and subsequent calcination. The composite adsorbent showed significantly improved ideal adsorption selectivity for CO2-CH4, CO2-N2 and propylene-propane.

The electronic modification of TiO(2) with highly dispersed NiO particles smaller than ca. 2 nm by the chemisorption-calcination-cycle technique has given rise to a high level of visible-light-activity exceeding that of iron oxide-surface modified TiO(2) simultaneously with the UV-light-activity being significantly increased.

Experimental results are reported on the (Ca-looping) multicyclic CO2 capture of CaO and nanosilica/CaO composites derived from Ca(OH)2 and nanosilica/Ca(OH)2 dry mixtures subjected in-situ to linear and Constant Rate Thermal Analysis (CRTA) preheating programs in either air or air/CO2 atmospheres. By means of CRTA preheating the rates of the reactions taking place during pretreatment are kept ...

Zirconia-supported tungsten oxide (WO(x)/ZrO(2)) is considered an important supported metal oxide model acid catalyst, for which structure-property relationships have been studied for numerous acid-catalyzed reactions. The catalytic activity for xylene isomerization, alcohol dehydration, and aromatic acylation follows a volcano-shape dependence on tungsten surface density. However, WO(x)/ZrO(2)...
