CRISPR-Cas system provides the adaptive immunity against invading genetic elements in prokaryotes. Recently, we demonstrated that Csa3a regulator mediates spacer acquisition in Sulfolobus islandicus by activating the expression of Type I-A adaptation cas genes. However, links between the activation of spacer adaptation and CRISPR transcription/processing, and the requirement for DNA repair gene...

abstract cyanide is a colorless, harmful, and dangerous substance with a smell similar to bitter almond. cyanide forms a stable compound with iron and magnesium and interferes with cell activity by interfering with respiration, carbon stabilization and nitrate revival. in order to evaluate cyanide metabolism in fuji and abassi mashhad apples, a factorial experiment was conducted as split plot b...

The whole genome sequence of Dolosigranulum pigrum isolated from the blood of a patient with interstitial lung disease was sequenced with the Pacific Biosciences RS II platform. The genome size is 2.1 Mb with 2,127 annotated coding sequences; it contained two clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated proteins (Cas) systems.

In this paper‎, ‎based on CAS wavelets we present quadrature rules for numerical solution‎ ‎of double and triple integrals with variable limits of integration‎. ‎To construct new method‎, ‎first‎, ‎we approximate the unknown function by CAS wavelets‎. ‎Then by using suitable collocation points‎, ‎we obtain the CAS wavelet coefficients that these coefficients are applied in approximating the unk...

Regulation of cell migration/invasion is important for embryonic development, immune function, and angiogenesis. However, migratory cells must also coordinately activate survival mechanisms to invade the extracellular matrix and colonize foreign sites in the body. Although invasive cells activate protective programs to survive under diverse and sometimes hostile conditions, the molecular signal...

PTP-PEST is a ubiquitously expressed, cytosolic, mammalian protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) which exhibits high specific activity in vitro. We have investigated the substrate specificity of PTP-PEST by a novel substrate-trapping approach in combination with in vitro dephosphorylation experiments. We initially identified a prominent 130-kDa tyrosine-phosphorylated protein in pervanadate-treate...

We report the draft genome sequence of Methanobrevibacter arboriphilicus strain ANOR1, isolated from the human gut. Its 2.21-Mb genome exhibits a 25.46% G+C content, the lowest value among archaea. The genome of M. arboriphilicus contains a total of 2,111 open reading frames and three clusters of regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR) loci with associated Cas proteins.

Genome engineering in human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) holds great promise for biomedical research and regenerative medicine. Recently, an RNA-guided, DNA-cleaving interference pathway from bacteria [the type II clustered, regularly interspaced, short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)-CRISPR-associated (Cas) pathway] has been adapted for use in eukaryotic cells, greatly facilitating genome editi...

Regulation of tone, blood pressure, and blood flow in the cerebral vasculature is of vital importance, particularly in the developing infant. We tested the hypothesis that, in addition to accretion of smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in cell layers with vessel thickening, significant changes in smooth muscle structure, as well as phenotype, extracellular matrix, and membrane proteins, in the media of...
