In 1918 G. Hardy and J. Littlewood proved an asymptotic estimate for the Second moment of the modulus of the Riemann zeta-function on the segment [1/2,1/2+iT] in the complex plane, as T tends to infinity. In 1926 Ingham proved an asymptotic estimate for the fourth moment. However, since Ingham’s result, nobody has proved an asymptotic formula for any higher moment. Recently J. Conrey and A. Gho...

We introduce nonparametric tests of independence for bivariate circular data based on trigonometric moments. Our contributions lie in (i) proposing that are locally and asymptotically optimal against cosine von Mises alternatives (ii) extending these tests, via the empirical characteristic function, to obtain consistent broader sets alternatives, eventually being omnibus. thus provide a collect...

This paper proposed a method that combines Polar Fourier Transform, color moments, and vein features to retrieve leaf images based on a leaf image. The method is very useful to help people in recognizing foliage plants. Foliage plants are plants that have various colors and unique patterns in the leaf. Therefore, the colors and its patterns are information that should be counted on in the proce...

This paper is devoted to "Some Discrete Distributions Generated by Standard Stable Densities" (in short, Discrete Stable Densities). The large-sample properties of M-estimators as obtained by the "Generalized Method of Moments" (GMM) are discussed for such distributions. Some corollaries are proposed. Moreover, using the respective results we demonstrate the large-sample pro...

By adding a suitable real function on both sides of the quadratic Riccati differential equation, we propose a weighted type of Adams-Bashforth rules for solving it, in which moments are used instead of the constant coefficients of Adams-Bashforth rules. Numerical results reveal that the proposed method is efficient and can be applied for other nonlinear problems.

Moment of images provides efficient descriptors and has been used in different image analysis application. The main advantage is their ability to provide invariant characteristic. In this paper a novel methodology has been carried out to classify SAR images using the Moments. This paper also provides the overview of most commonly used of moments and then present a moment based approached for cl...

Abstract – The basics of two domain decomposition methods based on the surface equivalence principle and the method of moments, namely, the surface tangential equivalence principle (TEPA) and the linear embedding via Green’s operators (LEGO), are outlined to solve electromagnetic scattering problems. In order to efficiently solve large problems, the methods are combined with the characteristic ...

We consider a discrete-time multi-server queue for which the moments of the stationary queue length can be expressed in terms of series over the zeros in the closed unit disk of a queue-specific characteristic function. In many important cases these zeros can be considered to be located on a queue-specific curve, called generalized Szegö curve. By adopting a special parametrization of these Sze...

This paper presents Rayleigh mixtures of distributions in which the weight functions are assumed to be chi-square, t and F sampling distributions. The exact probability density functions of the mixture of two correlated Rayleigh random variables have been derived. Different moments, characteristic functions, shape characteristics, and the estimates of the parameters of the proposed mixture dist...

We study the characteristic function and moments of the integer-valued random variable X+α , where X is a continuous random variables. The results can be regarded as exact versions of Sheppard’s correction. Rounded variables of this type often occur as subsequence limits of sequences of integer-valued random variables. This leads to oscillatory terms in asymptotics for these variables, somethin...
