This article is devoted to the problem of study metaphor in Cognitive Linguistics, conceptual theory metaphor. The deals with works such research scientists as Earl McCormack, G.Lakoff and M.Johnson, well Raymond W.Gibbs Jr., Dedra Gentner, Brian Bowdle, Lynn Cameron, Gilles Fauconier, Michael J. Reddy, David Pantner others. Definitions are given for two types metaphors: orientational ontologic...
this article deals with the relationship existing between the emotional aspect and decision-making processes. more specifically, it examines the links between emotional intelligence, decision biases and effectiveness of the governance mechanisms. the primary purposes of this article are to: consider emotional intelligence like new research ideas that make important contributions to society; off...
writers ensure the expected (re)construction of concepts in the mind of the audience through effective signposting of the inevitably linear linguistic stream, which is a main aspect of metadiscourse called interactive metadiscourse. in this study, the use of interactive metadiscourse markers in research articles was investigated to examine any probable difference existing between different disc...
In this paper, we demonstrate our tool Aspect-jEdit that supports the editing of inline aspects. Inline Aspects identify a new aspect oriented notation, which supports the editing of aspects in their context with the help of hyperplane visualization. Aspect-jEdit uses the concepts of aspect folding in order to depict all possible aspect hyperplanes.
objective: the purpose of this research was to investigate the role of the media, perfectionism, and difficulties in emotion regulation in prediction of muscle dysmorphia symptoms. methods: in this research, 240 male body-builders were selected from five gyms in gorgan (north of iran). they were required to answer muscle dysmorphia disorder inventory (mddi), multidimensional perfectionism scal...
A recent PET study revealed that the first and second somatosensory cortices (SI, SII), and the anterior cingulate cortex are activated by painful peripheral stimulation in humans. It has become clear that painful signals (nociceptive information) evoked at the periphery are transmitted via various circuits to the multiple cerebral cortices where pain signals are processed and perceived. Human ...
Frans van Winden presents a quick introduction to the dynamic ‘dual process’ model of social ties, which was developed by van Winden and colleagues in various publications during the last 20 years. Drawing on evidence from economics and psychology, van Winden argues that preferences are determined by different mixtures of emotional/subcortical and cognitive/neocortical brain activity, with the ...
The following article discusses the relationship between the model of intellectual disability and the attitudes towards sexuality of people with disabilities. This correlation has been verified during the author's own research conducted on students of several medical faculties such as nursing, public health, emergency medical services and physiotherapy. Tools of the author's design have been us...
Interference resulting from Cognitive Radios (CRs) is the most important aspect of cognitive radio networks that leads to degradation in Quality of Service (QoS) in both primary and CR systems. Power control is one of the efficient techniques that can be used to reduce interference and satisfy the Signal-to-Interference Ratio (SIR) constraint among CRs. This paper proposes a new distributed pow...
In analyzing audio material for features useful for extracting content, we must consider the value gained by adapting our analysis algorithms to the analysis processes of the human ear. This aspect with regard to loudness features is thoroughly examined in this paper. The increase in correlation to be gained by such cognitive processing is about 10%.
