For a Czochralski growth of Ge crystal, thermal fields have been analysed numerically using the three-dimensional finite volume method (FLUENT package). The arrangement used in a real Czochralski crystal growth lab included a graphite crucible, heat shield, heating device, thermal insulation and chamber including two gas outlets. We have considered two cases for calculations, which are configur...

A solution based sonochemical synthesis method for ZnO rods is presented with a resulting growth rate in excess of 15 times faster than previously reported. Such material is solution processable and could be exploited in the fabrication of transparent conductors and/or large area electronics via inkjet printing methods or solution based self-assembly techniques. To understand the crystal struct...

Rotor-like ZnO was grown from a mixture of rod-like ZnO powder and a saturated Zn(OH)(4)(2-) solution under moderate hydrothermal conditions at 100 degree C, in which the precursor rod-like ZnO crystal plane acts as a matrix core, and the branched nanorods showed fast epitaxial growth on the six directions around the prism core.

1. Introduction The rather limited Neogene-Quaternary olivine basaltic lava flows are outcropped in the Dehaj-Javazm area, north of Share-Babak, in the NW of Dehaj-Sarduieh magmatic belt as a part of the Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic assemblage (UDMA). The rocks contain significant amounts of plagioclase both as phenocrysts and microliths in the microlithic groundmass which play an important role i...

We consider a number of control-theoretic questions related to a free boundary problem modeling growth and dissolution of a crystal grain surrounded by a dilute solution of the same substance.

Non-linear optical (NLO) organic crystals of L-argininum formate (LAF) have been grown using low temperature solution growth technique. The cell parameters of the crystal were determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. FTIR analysis was done to confirm the presence of various functional groups in the LAF crystalline sample. FT–Raman analysis carried out on LAF ascertained the p...
