Adversarial plan recognition is the use of plan recognition in settings where the observed agent is an adversary, having plans or goals that oppose those of the observer. It is one of the key application areas of plan recognition techniques. There are two approaches to adversarial plan recognition. The first is suspicious activity recognition, i.e., directly recognizing plans, activities and be...

We discuss a recent approach to quantum field theoretical path integration on noncommutative geometries which imply UV/IR regularising finite minimal uncertainties in positions and/or momenta. One class of such noncommutative geometries arise as ‘momentum spaces’ over curved spaces, for which we can now give the full set of commutation relations in coordinate free form, based on the Synge world...

Calculating the spinor connection in curved spacetime is a tiresome and fallible task. This pedagogical paper display an equivalent but simple form of the covariant derivative for both the Weyl spinor and the Dirac bispinor, which is more convenient for calculation, and its geometrical meanings are more distinct. The exact Foldy-Wouthuysen transformation concerning spin-0 particles is constructed for a wide class of spacetimes described by the static metric ds = V dt −W dx, where V = V (x) and W = W (x). The field equation for the massive scalar field in the curved spacetime is chosen in the form (

I present an approach to gravity in which the spacetime metric is constructed from a non-Abelian gauge potential with values in the Lie algebra of the group U(2) (or the Lie algebra of quaternions). If the curvature of this potential vanishes, the metric reduces to a canonical curved background form reminiscent of the Friedmann S cosmological metric.

Experiments on a periodically forced Belousov-Zhabotinsky chemical reaction show front breakup into a state of spatiotemporal disorder involving continual events of spiral-vortex nucleation and destruction. Using the amplitude equation for forced oscillatory systems and the normal form equations for a curved front line, we identify the mechanism of front breakup and explain the experimental obs...

We derive an asymptotic solution of the Einstein field equations which describes the propagation of a thin, large amplitude gravitational wave into a curved space-time. The resulting equations have the same form as the colliding plane wave equations without one of the usual constraint equations.

The dyadic calculus is developed in a form suitable for the description of physical relations in curved space. The 4-space equations of hydrodynamics and electrodynamics are constructed using this dyadic calculus. As a demonstration of the relationship between gravity and electrodynamics a time varying metric is shown to generate electromagnetic radiation.

In order to decrease the fluid dynamic forces of the U-bent tube with a circular section and avoid the occurrence of fluid-structure interaction problems, three-dimensional simulations of fluid flows around the tubes are carried out. In the case that the axis of the curved tube with the circular section is prevented from being normal to the direction of the flows approaching the tube, the forma...
