A community’s water supply is one of its most important infrastructures, as sufficient quality and quantity of water are as much prerequisites for human life as economic development. The rapid urbanization predicted for developing countries will cause serious water shortages in densely populated areas. The Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) is taking precautions by planning and developing t...

In recent years, many researchers in AI and Robotics pay attention to RoboCup, because robotic soccer games needs various techniques in AI and Robotics, such as navigation, behavior generation, localization and environment recognition. Localization is one of the important issues for RoboCup. In this paper, we propose a method o f r obot's localization by integrating vision and modeling of the e...

− In this paper, dead-reckoning error in mobile robots is studied in the context of several different models. These models are derived first in the form of stochastic differential equations (SDEs). Corresponding Fokker-Planck equations are derived, and desired probability density functions (PDFs) of robot pose are computed by using the Fourier transform for SE(2).

Abstract The evolution of the PDR strength with the neutron excess is investigated in Sn isotopic and N=82 isotonic chains with regard to its possible connection with the neutron skin thickness. For this purpose a recently proposed method incorporating both HFB and multi-phonon QPM theory is applied. Analysis of the corresponding neutron and proton dipole transition densities is presented. 1 Th...

Context. FUV radiation strongly affects the physical and chemical state of molecular clouds, from protoplanetary disks to entire galaxies. Aims. The solution of the FUV radiative transfer equation can be complicated if the most relevant radiative processes such us dust scattering and gas line absorption are included, and have realistic (non–uniform) properties, i.e. if optical properties are de...

This paper describes the application of geometric bounding techniques to range-only navigation of an underwater vehicle. A geometric technique is defined to obtain a position fix of an underwater vehicle using a combination of dead-reckoning navigation and acoustic measurements of range between the underwater vehicle and a GPS equipped ship. An assessment is made of the accuracy to which naviga...
