We investigate the existence of sufficient local conditions under which poset representations decompose as direct sums indecomposables from a given class. In our work, indexing is product two totally ordered sets, corresponding to setting 2-parameter persistence in topological data analysis. Our interest belong so-called interval modules, by definition are indicator intervals poset. While whole...

We analyze an unreliable M/M/1 retrial queue with infinite-capacity orbit and normal queue. Retrial customers do not rejoin the normal queue but repeatedly attempt to access the server at i.i.d. intervals until it is found functioning and idle. We provide stability conditions as well as several stochastic decomposability results.

The theory of apartness spaces, and their relation to topological spaces (in the point—set case) and uniform spaces (in the set—set case), is sketched. New notions of local decomposability and regularity are investigated, and the latter is used to produce an example of a classically metrisable apartness on R that cannot be induced constructively by even a uniform structure.

An invariant for symplectic involutions on central simple algebras of degree divisible by 4 over fields of characteristic different from 2 is defined on the basis of Rost’s cohomological invariant of degree 3 for torsors under symplectic groups. We relate this invariant to trace forms and show how its triviality yields a decomposability criterion for algebras with symplectic involution.
