a survey was conducted to identify leafminer flies (diptera: agromyzidae) in shiraz from april 2004 to november 2005. among the collected specimens, five species are new records for iran. the identifications were confirmed by dr. civelek (turkey) and dr. henshaw (uk). all specimens were deposited in the insect collection of jahrom azad university.
