A concept of weak $f$-property for a set-valued mapping is introduced, and then under some suitable assumptions, which do not involve any information about the solution set, the lower semicontinuity of the solution mapping to the parametric set-valued vector equilibrium-like problems are derived by using a density result and scalarization method, where the constraint set $K$...
In this Article, we give a simple criterion for the regularity of a tri-linear mapping. We provide if f : X × Y × Z −→ W is a bounded tri-linear mapping and h : W −→ S is a bounded linear mapping, then f is regular if and only if hof is regular. We also shall give some necessary and sufficient conditions such that the fourth adjoint D^∗∗∗∗ of a tri-derivation D is again tri-derivation.
We investigated the use of whole-genome mapping and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) with isolates from an outbreak of Salmonella enterica serotype Saintpaul. PFGE and whole-genome mapping were concordant with 22 of 23 isolates. Whole-genome mapping is a viable alternative tool for the epidemiological analysis of Salmonella food-borne disease investigations.
Linkage mapping generally localizes disease genes to 1- to 2-cM regions of chromosomes. In theory, further refinement of location can be achieved by population-based studies of linkage disequilibrium between disease locus alleles and alleles at adjacent markers. One approach to localization, dubbed simple disequilibrium mapping, is to determine the relative location of the disease locus by plot...
Background and Objectives: Spatial epidemiology is the description and analysis of geographic variations of diseases with respect to demographic, environmental, behavioral, socioeconomic, genetic, and infectious risk factors. Disease mapping includes a set of statistical techniques that lead to providing clean maps based on estimation of the incidence, prevalence and mortality rates for the use...
Single nucleotide polymorphisms in the human genome have become an increasingly popular topic in that their analyses promise to be a key step toward personalized medicine. We investigate two related questions, how much the haplotype information contributes to linkage disequilibrium (LD) mapping and whether an in silico haplotype construction preceding the LD analysis can help. For disease gene ...
BACKGROUND Most tools for estimating utilities use clinical trial data from general health status models, such as the 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36). A disease-specific model may be more appropriate. The objective of this study was to apply a disease-specific utility mapping function for schizophrenia to data from a large, 1-year, open-label study of long-acting risperidone and to com...
BACKGROUND Spatial data on cases are available either in point form (e.g. longitude/latitude), or aggregated by an administrative region (e.g. zip code or census tract). Statistical methods for spatial data may accommodate either form of data, however the spatial aggregation can affect their performance. Previous work has studied the effect of spatial aggregation on cluster detection methods. H...

background & aim: dental implants should be surrounded with at least 1mm bone. assessing ridge width is an important part to achieve this goal. the use of ridge mapping to assess bone levels available avoids some of the problems associated with ct-scanning. the aim of this study was to assess the accuracy of ridge-mapping compared to ct-scan in determination of bony ridge widths. methods & mate...
