In this paper a new approach to construction of iterative methods of bilateral approximations of eigenvalue is proposed and investigated. The conditions on initial approximation, which ensure the convergence of iterative processes, are obtained.

This paper deals with on-line identification of delay systems. Based on nonasymptotic techniques, the estimation approach reduces to solving polynomials or eigenvalue problems. Numerical simulations with noisy data but also with slowly time varying parameters and delay are provided.

We investigate the sparse eigenvalue problem which arises in various fields such as machine learning and statistics. Unlike standard approaches relying on approximation of the l0norm, we work with an equivalent reformulation of the problem at hand as a DC program. Our starting point is the eigenvalue problem to which a constraint for sparsity requirement is added. The obtained problem is first ...

Cold accretion disks with temperatures below ∼ 3000K are likely to be composed of highly neutral gas. The magnetorotational instability may cease to operate in such disks, so it is of interest to consider purely hydrodynamic mechanisms of generating turbulence and angular momentum transport. With this motivation, we investigate the growth of hydrodynamic perturbations in a linear shear flow san...

A method for finding optimal control policies for first order state-constrained, stochastic dynamic systems in continuous time is presented. The method relies on solution of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation, which includes a diffusion term related to the stochastic disturbance in the model. A variable transformation is applied that turns the infinite-horizon optimal control problem into a l...

A b s t r a c t In this paper, we briefly discuss the dynamic and functional approach to computer symbolic tensor analysis. The ccgrg package for Wolfram Language/Mathematica is used to illustrate this approach. Some examples of applications are attached.

In this article, we propose a fuzzy class relation assigning to each pair of finite fuzzy sets a degree to which they are equipollent, which indicates that they have the same number of elements. The concepts of fuzzy sets and fuzzy classes in the class of all countable sets are introduced, and several standard relations and constructions, such as the fuzzy power set and exponentiation, are defi...

We introduce a new method for computing eigenvalues of the Maxwell operator with boundary finite elements. On bounded domains with piecewise constant material coefficients, the Maxwell solution for fixed wave number can be represented by boundary integrals, which allows to reduce the eigenvalue problem to a nonlinear problem for determining the wave number along with boundary and interface trac...
