In this paper, we introduce a new iterative scheme by the viscosity approximation method for finding a common element of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of common fixed points of infinitely many nonexpansive mappings in a Hilbert space. Then, we prove a strong convergence theorem which improves and extends some recent results.

How abstract are the ideas required to address biological movement? Consider the question posed by Arthur Winfree (1987, p. 253), the foremost theoretician on temporal order in biology and chemistry: “How does a gymnast calculate forces and rates for hundreds of muscles with millisecond precision while whirling from one maneuver to the next?” For Winfree, the answer is not forthcoming in the la...

Occlusal registration for prosthodontic rehabilitation in dentulous hemimandibulectomy patient has various difficulties due to mandibular instability. The purpose of this study was to find the occlusal contact position for remaining dentition to stabilize the hemiresected mandible during clenching. Three hemimandibulectomized subjects without surgical bony construction were selected and custom-...

Using the fact that any two player discounted stochastic game with finite state and action spaces can be recast as a non-convex constrained optimization problem, where each global minima corresponds to a stationary Nash equilibrium, we present a sequential quadratic programming based algorithm that converges to a KKT point. This KKT point is an -Nash equilibrium for some > 0 and under some suit...

One of the most important issues in wireless local area network (WLAN) systems with multiple access points (APs) is the AP selection problem. Game theory is a mathematical tool used to analyze the interactions in multiplayer systems and has been applied to various problems in wireless networks. Correlated equilibrium (CE) is one of the powerful game theory solution concepts, which is more gener...

In this paper we consider the question of solving equilibrium problems—formulated as complementarity problems and, more generally, mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints (MPEC’s)—as nonlinear programs, using an interior-point approach. These problems pose theoretical difficulties for nonlinear solvers, including interior-point methods. We examine the use of penalty methods to get ar...

A one-sided limit order book is modeled as a noncooperative game for several players. Agents offer various quantities of an asset at different prices, competing to fulfill an incoming order, whose size is not known a priori. Players can have different payoff functions, reflecting different beliefs about the fundamental value of the asset and probability distribution of the random incoming order...

We study the two-dimensional kinetic Ising model below its equilibrium critical temperature, subject to a square-wave oscillating external field. We focus on the multidroplet regime, where the metastable phase decays through nucleation and growth of many droplets of the stable phase. At a critical frequency, the system undergoes a genuine nonequilibrium phase transition, in which the symmetry-b...

This paper is concerned with a model of a one-sided limit order book, viewed as a noncooperative game for n players. Agents offer various quantities of an asset at different prices, ranging over a finite set Ων = {(i/ν)P ; i = 1, . . . , ν}, competing to fulfill an incoming order, whose size X is not known a priori. Players can have different payoff functions, reflecting different beliefs about...

This paper examines the conception of individuals as being of certain types in Harsanyi’s transformation of games of incomplete information into games of complete information. It argues that while the conception of the individual in games of complete information offers potential advances over the problematic neoclassical conception of the individual, Harsanyi’s more realistic incomplete informa...
