This paper introduces a refined single-valued neutrosophic set (RSVNS) and presents a similarity measure of RSVNSs. Then a multicriteria decisionmaking method with RSVNS information is developed based on the similarity measure of RSVNSs. By the similarity measure between each alternative and the ideal solution (ideal alternative), all the alternatives can be ranked and the best one can be selec...

This paper presents an aggregation approach of similarity measures for ontology matching called n-Harmony. The n-Harmony measure identifies top-n highest values in each similarity matrix to assign a weight to the corresponding similarity measure for aggregation. We can also exclude noisy similarity measures that have a low weight and the n-Harmony outperforms previous methods in our experimenta...

A similarity measure is described that does not require the prior specification of features or the need for training sets of representative data. Instead large numbers of features are generated as part of the similarity calculation and the extent to which features can be found to be common to pairs of patterns determines the measure of their similarity. Emphasis is given to salient image region...

— In this paper, the task of recognizing signs made by hearing impaired people at sentence level has been addressed. A novel method of extracting spatial features to capture hand movements of a signer has been proposed. Frames of a given video of a sign are preprocessed to extract face and hand components of a signer. The local centroids of the extracted components along with the global centroi...

This paper deals with the problem of measuring the similarity degree between two normalized possibility distributions encoding preferences or uncertain knowledge. Many existing de nitions of possibilistic similarity indexes aggregate pairwise distances between each situation in possibility distributions. This paper goes one step further, and discusses de nitions of possibilistic similarity meas...

We propose an ordinal-based measure of image similarity. This measure is based on a recently developed general framework for image correspondence and incorporates regionbased spatial information. The measure is capable of taking into account differences between images at various scales. Several examples are presented and the measure is evaluated on a set of test images.

In this paper we present a new algorithm for the Person Cross Document Coreference task. We show that accurate results require a way to adapt the parameters of the similarity function – metrics and threshold – to the ontological constraints obeyed by individuals. The technique we propose dynamically changes the initial weights computed when the context is analyzed. The weight recomputation is n...

Secondly combining group theory and singularity analysis we obtained some information about the similarity solutions of the fourth order generalized Boussinesq equation GBE4. It has been shown that this equation possess a three dimensional Lie algebra of the point symmetries and the similarity reductions due to these symmetries have been obtained.

This paper investigates subsequent matching approach and feature-based classification for activity recognition using accelerometer readings. Recognition is done by similarity measure based on DTWs on each acceleration axis. Preliminary ensemble method is proposed and comparative study is executed showing better and more stable results.

We present a technique for estimating the similarity between objects such as movies or foods whose proper representation depends on human perception. Our technique combines a modest number of human similarity assessments to infer a pairwise similarity function between the objects. This similarity function captures some human notion of similarity which may be difficult or impossible to automatic...
