Abstract The global database on donation and transplantation reported 129,681 worldwide organ transplants in 2020, with kidneys livers being the most commonly transplanted organs. Rejection of by host's immune system is a common complication major reason for graft failure patient mortality. To address these limitations, we developed genome-scale metabolic models liver CD4+ T cells using pipelin...
background:chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (itp) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by a low platelet count due to reduced production and higher destruction of the platelets. therapy is aimed at increasing the patient’s platelet count to safe levels and includes a wide variety of treatments, which has a large impact on the patient’s quality of life. health related quality of li...
background: there is a worldwide interest in searching for potential and effective medicinal plant candidates against various diseases or disorders. till now, there are number of anti-inflammatory drugs like nsaids are available which showed various adverse effects in our body. to reduce these adverse effects, some of medicinal plants have been experimentally validated. aim: the aim of our immu...
Cladribine acts as an antineoplastic, immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory agent. The aim of this study was to examine the possible impact of this drug on the epidermis of Wistar rats. The control group received standard feed and water. The experimental group I was treated with cladribine in a schema corresponding to the treatment of multiple sclerosis in humans. The material for microscopic...
Streptomyces tsukubaensis strain F601 was found to be a producer of the immunosuppressive drug tacrolimus. The draft genome sequence of this strain was approximately 8.52 Mbp. Genes involved in the biosynthesis of tacrolimus were identified in the genome. This draft genome sequence will provide insights into the genetic basis of tacrolimus biosynthesis and regulation.
DSPG had a definite but relatively feeble immunosuppressive effect in rats undergoing heterotopic heart transplantation and in dogs after renal transplantation. The drug was toxic in both species, although less so in rats. In dogs, synergistic interactions with cyclosporine and steroids were not evident.
A modified model of adjuvant arthritis is described that permits simultaneous quantitative measurement of the humoral and the cellular immune response to a secondary immunogen (el4 cells) in the arthritic rat. Application of the new model system to mechanism studies is illustrated with cyclophosphamide. The drug is shown to suppress adjuvant arthritis by a combined anti-inflammatory and immunos...
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Therapeutic drug monitoring is applied to a range of drugs. To predict an appropriate dosing regimen, models based on Bayesian techniques have been used. However, this approach requires a well trained professional and sophisticated software. The objectives of this study were first to develop kinetic nomograms as a useful tool to achieve individual drug blood concentrat...
The hopes for liver transplantation have been increased by experience with the new immunosuppressive drug cyclosporin A. Optimal therapy with cyclosporin A has required steroid therapy, but the amounts of prednisone used have been a small fraction of those used in the past.
Eleven patients with drug-resistant pandemic (H1N1) 2009 were identified in South Korea during May 2009-January 2010. Virus isolates from all patients had the H275Y mutation in the neuraminidase gene. One isolate had the I117M mutation. Of the 11 patients, 6 were ≥ 59 months of age, and 5 had underlying immunosuppressive conditions.
