in this paper, we conduct a comparative study between the homotopy perturbation method (hpm) and adomian’s decomposition method (adm) for analytic treatment of nonlinear volterra integral equations, and we show that the hpm with a specific convex homotopy is equivalent to the adm for these type of equations.
The prediction of an ecosystem's response to an environmental disturbance or the artificial control of ecosystems is a challenging task in ecology. Ecological theory predicts that disturbances frequently result in unexpected responses between interacting species due to the many indirect interactions within a complex community. However, such indeterminacy appears to be unusual in nature. Here us...
Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) coupled with high-throughput techniques (ChIP-X), such as next generation sequencing (ChIP-Seq) and microarray (ChIP-chip), has been successfully used to map active transcription factor binding sites (TFBS) of a transcription factor (TF). The targeted genes can be activated or suppressed by the TF, or are unresponsive to the TF. Microarray technology has bee...
The cardiovascular complications of diabetes represent the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in affected subjects. The impact of hyperglycemia may be both direct and indirect: indirect consequences of elevated blood glucose lead to generation of advanced glycation endproducts, the products of nonenzymatic glycation/oxidation of proteins/ lipids that accumulate in the vessel wall, and are...

Fishers have been complaining about the effects of bottom trawl gear on the marine environment since at least the 14th century. Trawl gear affects the environment in both direct and indirect ways. Direct effects include scraping and ploughing of the substrate, sediment resuspension, destruction of benthos, and dumping of processing waste. Indirect effects include post-fishing mortality and long...
