Stationary structures in a classical isotropic two-dimensional continuous Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin system are studied in the framework of the (2 + 1)-dimensional Landau–Lifshitz model. It is established that in the case of ~ S(~r, t) = ~ S(~r − ~vt) the Landau–Lifshitz equation is closely related to the Ablowitz–Ladik hierarchy. This relation is used to obtain soliton structures, which are...

We introduce the notion of Gauss-Landau-Hall magnetic field on a Riemannian surface. The corresponding Landau-Hall problem is shown to be equivalent to the dynamics of a massive boson. This allows one to view that problem as a globally stated, variational one. In this framework, flowlines appear as critical points of an action with density depending on the proper acceleration. Moreover, we can ...

The phenomenological Ginzburg-Landau model for lowtemperature superconductivity has received much attention. However, it is not applicable to physical contexts that do not take into account factors such as material defects or thermal fluctuations. Thus, existing studies of the stability, dynamics, interactions, and other properties of the vortex state do not necessarily carry over to situations...

Abstract The hybrid model is the Landau–Ginzburg-type theory that expected, via Landau–Ginzburg/ Calabi–Yau correspondence, to match Gromov–Witten of a complete intersection in weighted projective space. We prove wall-crossing formula exhibiting dependence genus-zero on its stability parameter, generalizing work [21] for quantum singularity and paralleling Ciocan-Fontanine–Kim [7] quasimaps. Th...

This article reviews the rich magneto-electronic properties of multilayer graphene systems. Multilayer graphenes are built from graphene sheets attracting one another by van der Waals forces; the magneto-electronic properties are diversified by the number of layers and the stacking configurations. For an N-layer system, Landau levels are divided into N groups, with each identified by a dominant...

Recent observation of unusual vortex patterns in MgB(2) single crystals raised speculations about possible "type-1.5" superconductivity in two-band materials, mixing the properties of both type-I and type-II superconductors. However, the strict application of the standard two-band Ginzburg-Landau (GL) theory results in simply proportional order parameters of the two bands-and does not support t...

In this paper we study a Landau-type operator with an external force. It is a linear model of the Landau equation near Maxwellian distributions. Making use of multiplier method, we get the global hypoelliptic estimate under suitable assumptions on the external potential.

The authors consider the Ginzburg-Landau model for superconductivity. First some well-known features of superconducting materials are reviewed and then various results concerning the model, the resultant differential equations, and their solution on bounded domains are derived. Then, finite element approximations of the solutions of the Ginzburg-Landau equations are considered and error estimat...

We study a gradient-flow version of the Ginzburg-Landau equations with an addition of a compactly supported potential term. We consider initial data close to a magnetic vortex solution of the Ginzburg-Landau equations and find the dynamical law governing the motion of the vortex center in the presence of the potential.

Green’s functions are gauge-dependent quantities. Thus, the manifestation of confinement in these correlation functions also depends on the gauge. Here we use lattice gauge theory to study the gluon and the ghost propagators in a gauge (the so-called λ -gauge) interpolating between the Landau and the Coulomb gauge. Results are compared to the usual minimal Landau gauge.
