Several supporting observations indicate that Sithylemenkat Lake, Alaska; occupies a meteorite impact crater formed near the end of the Wisconsinan glaciation. The initial identification with Landsat imagery is attributed to the unique perspective provided by such imagery.

High-resolution transmission electron microscopy, shows that carbon in the Allende carbonaceous chondrite meteorite is predominantly a poorly crystalline graphite. Such material is of interest as an important carrier of the isotopically anomalous noble gases found in carbonaceous chondrites.

Anoxic irradiation of a type IIICD iron meteorite known to contain the phosphide mineral schreibersite (Fe,Ni)3P in the presence of ethanol/water affords the reactive oxyacid H-phosphinic acid (H3PO2) as the dominant phosphorus product.
