We propose to compute B-meson weak matrix elements needed to constrain the CKM unitarity triangle and test the Standard Model in the quark flavor sector using the 2+1 flavor dynamical domain-wall fermion gauge field configurations generated by the LHP, RBC, and UKQCD Collaborations and relativistic b quarks. In the upcoming year we aim to finish our calculation of the B-meson leptonic decay con...
We present results of the first lattice QCD calculation three-flavored heavy dibaryons both in flavor-symmetric and antisymmetric channels. These have spin zero, states are constructed using various possible combinations quark flavors with at least one them as charm ($c$) or bottom ($b$) i.e., namely, ${\mathcal{H}}_{c}(cudcud)$, ${\mathcal{H}}_{b}(budbud)$, ${\mathcal{H}}_{bcs}(bcsbcs)$, ${\ma...
This letter is in response to a recent review by DeTar and Gottlieb about lattice QCD that has recently appeared in Physics Today. It also is partially motivated by a separate review written by DeGrand. My basic point is that one should be more responsible when presenting numerical results as coming from ab initio calculations. In turn, this leads me to the suggestion that in lattice field theo...
The quenched Landau gauge gluon propagator is investigated in lattice QCD with large assimetric lattices, accessing momenta as low as q ∼ 100 MeV or smaller. Our investigation focus on the IR limit of the gluon dressing function, testing the compatibility with recent solutions of the Dyson-Schwinger equations. In particular, the low energy parameters κ and α(0) are measured. The confinement of ...
Lattice results for heavy light matrix elements are reviewed and some of their implications are very briefly discussed [1]. Despite the fact that in most cases the lattice results for weak matrix elements at the moment have only a modest accuracy of about 20–30% they already have important phenomenological repercussions; e.g. for Vtd/Vts, xs/xd and B → K ∗γ. Abstract We present the first unquenched lattice-QCD calculation of form factors for decay $$B\rightarrow D^*\ell \nu $$ B → D ∗ ℓ ν at nonzero recoil. Our analysis includes 15 MI...
In this contribution I discuss prospects for photoproducing hybrid mesons at CEBAF, based on recent model results and experimental indications of possible hybrids. One excellent opportunity appears to be a search for I = 1, J = 2 “bo2” hybrids in (a2π) o through diffractive photoproduction. Other notable possibilities accessible through π or π exchange photoproduction are I = 1 1 “π 1 ” in f1π ...
In the last years, much effort has been paid to experimentally detect the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) in heavy-ion collisions. In these experiments, precise theoretical inputs about the nature of the transition and the equation of state (EOS) of QGP are indispensable to unambiguously identify the signal of QGP. Here, lattice QCD provides us with the most powerful method to compute thermodynamic pr...
The separation of a heavy quark and antiquark pair leads to the formation of a tube of flux, or string, which should break in the presence of light quarkantiquark pairs. This expected zero temperature phenomenon has proven elusive in simulations of lattice QCD. We present simulation results that show that the string does break in the confining phase at nonzero temperature. 11.15.Ha, 12.38.Gc, 1...
