A frame-like action for arbitrary mixed-symmetry bosonic massless fields in Minkowski space is constructed. The action is given in a simple form and consists of two terms for a field of any spin. The fields and gauge parameters are certain tensor-valued differential forms. The formulation is based on the unfolded form of equations for mixed-symmetry fields.

In this paper, we discuss some numerical schemes for an upscaled (core scale) model describing the transport, precipitation and dissolution of solutes in a porous medium. We consider two weak formulations, conformal and mixed. We discuss the time discretization in both formulations and prove the convergence of the resulting schemes. A numerical study is presented for the mixed formulation.

We develop a method for the analysis of mixed finite element methods for the Stokes problem in the velocity-pressure formulation. A technical "macroelement condition", which is sufficient for the classical Babuska-Brezzi inequality to be valid, is introduced. Using this condition,we are able to verify the stability, and optimal order of convergence, of several known mixed finite element methods.
