The mammalian ortholog of the Drosophila MOF (males absent on the first) gene product is a histone H4 lysine 16-specific acetyltransferase. Recent studies have shown that depletion of human MOF (hMOF) in human cell lines leads to genomic instability, spontaneous chromosomal aberrations, cell cycle defects, altered nuclear morphology, reduced transcription of certain genes, and defective DNA dam...

The understanding of nanomaterials for targeted cancer therapy is of great importance as physical parameters of nanomaterials have been shown to be strong determinants that can promote cellular responses. However, there have been rare platforms that can vastly tune the core of nanoparticles at a molecular level despite various nanomaterials employed in such studies. Here we show targeted photod...

Generally, crystals of synthetic porous materials such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are commonly made up from one kind of repeating pore structure which predominates the whole material. Surprisingly, little is known about how to introduce heterogeneously arranged pores within a crystal of homogeneous pores without losing the crystalline nature of the material. Here, we outline a strategy ...

Due to their very high porosity and superior textural properties, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are promising nanoporous materials for hydrogen storage by cryocompression. Herein, we investigated adsorption on four commercial MOFs, namely, MIL53-Al, MOF-5, HKUST-1, MOF-177, over a temperature range of 77 273 K pressures up 14 MPa. The modified Dubinin–Astakhov equation was used fit the experi...

A combined theoretical and experimental approach demonstrates that nanocluster embedment into the pores of metal-organic frameworks (MOF) may be influenced by the chemical functionalisation of the MOF. Furthermore, this results in the surface functionalisation of the embedded nanoclusters, highlighting the potential of MOF scaffolds for the design and synthesis of novel functional materials.

The aluminum-based metal-organic framework (MOF) made from 2-aminoterephthalate is a photocatalyst for oxygen evolution. This MOF can be modified by incorporating Ni2+ cations into the pores through coordination to the amino groups, and the resulting MOF is an efficient photocatalyst for overall water splitting.

In order to fabricate metal-organic framework (MOF) based devices, it is desirable to precisely position high-quality and mono-sized MOF crystals on supports. In this work, we demonstrate a facile solution procedure for the fabrication of oriented and monodispersed single-crystal MOF pattern. We expect that such capability will expand the scope of applications of MOFs to advanced fields.

The Cu-based MOF loaded on macroporous carbon (MPC) creates novel Cu-MOF-MPC hybrids for the first time. The obtained Cu-MOF-MPC composites are used as electrocatalysts for the oxidation of NADH and reduction of H2O2 in neutral solution.

In article number 1700261, the Wu group presents poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) nanotubes (PEDOT NTs) conformally coated with porphyrin-based metal–organic framework nanocrystals (MOF-525), where MOF-525 serve as an electrocatalytic surface and PEDOT NTs act as a charge collector to rapidly transport the electron from MOF nanocrystals. The innovative composites establish a new generation of p...

Cu-MOF-74 (also known as Cu-CPO-27) was identified as a sorbent having one of the highest densities of Cu(ii) sites per unit volume. Given that Cu(ii) in the framework can be thermally activated to yield a five-coordinate Cu(ii) species, we identified this MOF as a potential candidate for maximal volumetric uptake of ammonia. To that end, the kinetic breakthrough of ammonia in Cu-MOF-74/Cu-CPO-...
