In this paper, we propose a Bayesian network framework for explicitly modeling components and their relationships of Korean Hangul characters. A Hangul character is modeled with hierarchical components: a syllable model, grapheme models, stroke models and point models. Each model is constructed with subcomponents and their relationships except a point model, the primitive one, which is represen...
Primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PENETs) is an uncommon malignancy of bone and soft tissue witch rarely occurs in the kidney. In more than 90% of the cases, the tumor cells relieves a balanced translocation (11; 22) (q24; q12). Immunohistochemical staining may be required for diagnosis of PENET. The cells of tumor express CD99, vimentin, NSE, FL1 but do not express Ck, LCA, myogenin, and WT1. W...
The primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) belongs to a group of highly malignant tumors and is composed of small round cells of a neuroectodermal origin. Categorized in the same tumor family as Ewing sarcoma, the PNET is most likely to occur in bones and soft tissues. However, a small number of PNET cases arising in the pelvis have been reported as well. We present three cases of pelvic PNET: ...
We present a term rewriting system for interval arithmetic (addition, subtraction and multiplication), toward a mathematical model for interval computation. We start presenting a term rewriting system whose rules (directed equations) perform binary floating-point arithmetic, which is based on IEEE-754 Standard. Next, this primitive system is extended with rules for interval arithmetic. Finally,...
This article is a contribution to the study of the automorphism groups of 2−(v, k, 1) designs. Let D be 2−(v, 13, 1) design, G ≤ Aut(D) be block transitive, point primitive but not flag transitive. Then Soc(G), the socle of G, is not classical simple group over finite filed GF (q)(q odd). Mathematics Subject Classification: 05B05, 20B25
We obtain an asymptotic formula for the smoothly weighted first moment of primitive quadratic Dirichlet L-functions at the central point, with an error term that is “square-root” of the main term. Our approach uses a recursive technique that feeds the result back into itself, successively improving the error term.
In this paper we review and comment on “A novel protocol-authentication algorithm ruling out a man-in-the-middle attack in quantum cryptography”, [M. Peev et al., Int. J. Quant. Inform., 3, 225, (2005)]. In particular, we point out that the proposed primitive is not secure when used in a generic protocol, and needs additional authenticating properties of the surrounding quantum-cryptographic pr...
The main aim of this article is to study (v, k, λ)-symmetric designs admitting a flag-transitive and point-primitive automorphism group G whose socle is PSL(3, q). We indeed show that the only possible design satisfying these conditions is a Desarguesian projective plane PG(2, q) and G ⩾ PSL(3, q).
Among outstanding challenges to Internet-wide topology mapping using active probes is balancing efficiency, e.g. induced load and time, with coverage. Toward maximizing probe utility, we introduce Ingress Point Spreading (IPS). IPS utilizes ingress diversity discovered in prior rounds of probing to rank-order available vantage points such that future probes traverse all known paths into a targe...
Autonomous grasping of unknown objects by a robot is a highly challenging skill that is receiving increasing attention in the last years, and is still more challenging in underwater environments, with highly unstructured scenarios, limited availability of sensors and adverse conditions that affect the robot perception and control systems. This paper describes an approach for autonomous grasping...
