The functional response is a key element in all predator-prey interactions. Although functional responses are traditionally modelled as being a function of prey density only, evidence is accumulating that predator density also has an important effect. However, much of the evidence comes from artificial experimental arenas under conditions not necessarily representative of the natural system, an...

Nest predation is a major determinant of fitness in birds and costly nest defence behaviours have evolved in order to reduce nest predation. Some avian studies have suggested that predator recognition is innate whereas others have stressed the importance of learning. However, none of these studies controlled for the genetic origin of the populations investigated and the effect of unfamiliarity ...

The system of stochastic differential equations describing a nonautonomous density-dependent predator-prey model with Holling-type II functional response disturbed by white noise, centered and non-centered Poisson noises is considered. So, in this we take into account levels predator density dependence jumps, corresponding to the measures. existence uniqueness theorem for positive, global (no e...

Cross-diffusion may be an important driving force of pattern formation in population models. Recently, a relation between cross-diffusion and reaction-diffusion systems has been revealed from the mathematical modeling point view. In this paper, we derive predator–prey model with simple system two behavioral states predator examine whether can induce spatial patterns We assume that predators hav...

In this paper, a discrete-time predator-prey model involving prey refuge proportional to predator density is studied. It assumed that the rate at which moves density. The fixed points, their local stability, and existence of Neimark-Sacker bifurcation are investigated. At last, numerical simulations consisting diagrams, phase portraits, time-series given support analytical findings. occurrence ...

We obtain interior estimates for a class of semilinear reaction-diffusion systems from L a priori estimates. Our results are applied to a predator-prey model in which the species switch the role of predator and prey on given subsets of their domain of interaction, and a one dimensional flame propagation model. Extensions of earlier results in Morgan [14], [15] follow from the analysis.

We consider a particle predator-swarm model introduced in [1]. In the continuum limit of many prey particles, we develop a numerical method which tracks the boundary of the swarm. We use this method to explore the variety and complexity of swarm shapes. We also consider a special limiting case where the predator is moving inside an infinite sea of prey. Two subcases are studied: one where the p...
