In the present paper we establish a quasi-explicit formula for the periodic premium under an equity-linked endowment policy with asset value guarantee in an economy with interest rate risk. R&llml? Le pr6sent article examine 1 'kvaluation d 'une prime periodique d 'assurance pour le produit unit-linked qui contient complCmentairement un rendement garanti. Nous proposons une solution de type qua...

In this paper, the concept of (∈,∈ ∨ qk)-fuzzy quasi-ideals of an ordered semigroup S is introduced by the ordered fuzzy points of S, which is a generalization of fuzzy quasi-ideal of S, and related properties are investigated. Furthermore, we introduce the concepts of prime and completely semiprime (∈,∈ ∨ qk)-fuzzy quasi-ideals of ordered semigroups, and characterize bi-regular ordered semigro...

Let p be prime and Zpn a degree n unramified extension of the ring of p-adic integers Zp. In this paper we give an overview of some very fast deterministic algorithms for common operations in Zpn modulo p . Combining existing methods with recent work of Kedlaya and Umans about modular composition of polynomials, we achieve quasi-linear time algorithms in the parameters n and N , and quasi-linea...

The complete generalized cycle G(d, n) is the digraph which has Zn × Zd as the vertex set and every vertex (i, x) is adjacent to the d vertices (i + 1, y) with y ∈ Zd . As a main result, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the iterated line digraph G(d, n, k) = Lk−1G(d, n), with d a prime number, to be a Cayley digraph in terms of the existence of a group0d of order d and a subgrou...

The ring decomposition technique of part I is extended to the case when the factors in the direct product decomposition are no longer fields but arbitrary chain rings. This includes not only the case of quasi-cyclic codes over rings but also the case of quasi-cyclic codes over fields whose co-index is no longer prime to the characteristic of the field. A new quaternary construction of the Leech...

Assuming a quasi Generalized Riemann Hypothesis (quasi-GRH for short) for Dedekind zeta functions over Kummer fields of the type Q(ζq , q √ a), we prove the following prime analogue of a conjecture of Erdős & Pomerance (1985) concerning the exponent function fa(p) (defined to be the minimal exponent e for which ae ≡ 1 modulo p): (‡) lim x→∞ Fa(x;A,B) π(x) = 1 √ 2π B ∫

It is proved that if R is a valuation domain with maximal ideal P and if RL is countably generated for each prime ideal L, then R R is separable if and only RJ is maximal, where J = ∩n∈NP . When R is a valuation domain satisfying one of the following two conditions: (1) R is almost maximal and its quotient field Q is countably generated (2) R is archimedean Franzen proved in [2] that R is separ...

The question might not be as profound as Shakespeare’s, but nevertheless, it is interesting. Because few people seem to be aware of quasi p-groups, we will begin with a bit of history and a definition; and then we will determine for each group of order less than 24 (and a few others) whether the group is a quasi p-group for some prime p or not. This paper is a prequel to [Hwd]. In [Hwd] we prov...

We initiate the study of 1-torsion of finite modules over two-sided noetherian semiperfect rings. In particular, we give a criterion for determining when the 1-torsion submodule contains minimal generators of the module. We also provide an explicit construction for a projective cover of the submodule generated by the torsion elements in the top of the module. Some of the obtained results hold w...

A new and conceptually simple procedure is derived for the computation of the maximal reachability submodule of a given submodule of the state space of a linear discrete time system over a Noethenian ring R. The procedure is effective if R is effective and if kernels and intersections can be computed. The procedure is compared with a rather different procedure by Assan e.a. published recently.
