Abst ract:-The South African Sythetic Aperture Radar System (SASAR) was conceived of as a fully polarimetric, multifrequency, airborne SAR. System design work was carried out at the Radar Remote Sensing Group of the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Cape Town, starting in 1993. Construction of flight hardware was contracted out to Industry and on board integration was given to...
Method for applying spread-spectrum techniques to optical communication is presented. The interference suppression capability of spread-spectrum systems is shown to be enhanced by optical transform domain processing.Effects of jammer in DSSS communication system are demonstrated in thispaper.Several possible implementations of this system are suggested, and applications to fiber optics, laser r...
In this paper, we investigate the impact of the presence of interfering radar on the target direction of arrival (DOA) estimation performed by the reference radar. The analyzed estimators are the pseudo-monopulse and the maximum likelihood techniques. The importance of the use of codes in multi-user radar system is highlighted in a simple scenario of two radars by calculating the root-mean squa...
The monopulse angle measuring technique is widely adopted in radar systems due to its simplicity and speed in accurately acquiring a target's angle. However, in a spatial adaptive array, beam distortion, due to adaptive beamforming, can result in serious deterioration of monopulse performance. In this paper, a novel constrained monopulse angle measuring algorithm is proposed for spatial adaptiv...
This paper concerns the detection, parameter and height estimation of PN signals, with a passive radar receiver network applied in wireless communication systems, in multipath interference. The investigation is obtained by Monte Carlo simulation. The achieved results can be applied for target detection in multistatic radars using existing communication networks.
This article considers three interrelated adversarial inference problems involving cognitive radars. We first discuss inverse tracking of the radar to estimate adversary's us based on radar's actions and calibrate sensing accuracy. Second, using revealed preference from microeconomics, we formulate a nonparametric test identify if is constrained utility maximizer with signal processing constrai...
