A test statistic based on population quantiles using sample order statistics is suggested. The quantiles of the test statistics are evaluated for generalized exponential distribution. Similar test statistic based on moments of sample order statistic is referred and the proposed test formula is compared with it. Between the pairs of the above models it is established that the test formula propos...

A procedure is derived for determining the values of the parameters of a multinomial distribution by means of the fiducial approach proposed by Fisher. By decomposing the involved probability (mass or density) functions, it is shown that the resulting fiducial distributions belong to the Dirichlet family.

The nature of blood as a suspension of red blood cells makes computational haemodynamics a demanding task. Our coarse-grained blood model, which builds on a lattice Boltzmann method for soft particle suspensions, enables the study of the collective behaviour of the order of 10(6) cells in suspension. After demonstrating the viscosity measurement in Kolmogorov flow, we focus on the statistical a...

This paper considers two flexible classes of omnibus goodness-of-fit tests for the inverse Gaussian distribution. The test statistics are weighted integrals over the squared modulus of some measure of deviation of the empirical distribution of given data from the family of inverse Gaussian laws, expressed by means of the empirical Laplace transform. Both classes of statistics are connected to t...

The high level of air pollution is an important problem. One of these major pollutants is carbon monoxide (CO), which can block normal physiology. Hematologic alteration is another important side effect of exposure to CO. Adverse effects on red blood cells, formation of nonfunctional hemoglobin called carboxyhemoglobin (COHb), have been well documented. The effect of CO on platelets is not well...
