In this paper, we present a solution to Large-Scale Video Classification Challenge (LSVC2017) [1] that ranked the 1st place. We focused on a variety of modalities that cover visual, motion and audio. Also, we visualized the aggregation process to better understand how each modality takes effect. Among the extracted modalities, we found Temporal-Spatial features calculated by 3D convolution quit...
We prove two stability results for the scale invariant solutions of the nonlinear heat equation ∂ t u = ∆u−|u| p−1 u with 1 < p < 1+ 2 n , n being the spatial dimension. The first result is that a small perturbation of a scale invariant solution vanishes as t → ∞. The second result is global, with a positivity condition on the initial data.
Introduction A longstanding debate in tonal phonology concerns how to characterize the relative nature of tone. Two types of tonal relativity are observed. First, tones are relative to a speaker’s pitch range. Thus a canonical lexical High tone is higher in a given speaker’s pitch range than a canonical lexical Low tone in the same position. Second, tones are relative to one another in sequence...

The gravitational interaction is scale-free in both Newtonian gravity and general theory of relativity. The concept of self-similarity arises from this nature. Self-similar solutions reproduce themselves as the scale changes. This property results in great simplification of the governing partial differential equations. In addition, some self-similar solutions can describe the asymptotic behavio...
We determine the radial excitation energy (2S-1S splitting)in the Upsilon spectrum using NRQCD b quarks on MILC configurations. We have statistical fitting errors of around 1% across a range of lattice spacing values using random wall sources, and this allows us to give improved determinations of the physical value of the heavy quark potential parameter r1. We also show improved results for the...
