Clustering multi-dense large scale high dimensional numeric datasets is a challenging task duo to high time complexity of most clustering algorithms. Nowadays, data collection tools produce a large amount of data. So, fast algorithms are vital requirement for clustering such data. In this paper, a fast clustering algorithm, called Dimension-based Partitioning and Merging (DPM), is proposed. In ...

We present an adaptive cross-product algorithm for tracking the direction to a moving source using an electromagnetic vector sensor and analyze its performance. We then propose a multiple forgetting factor variant of the same algorithm, which has self-tuning capability. Numerical examples are included.

This article presents an inductively loaded radio frequency (RF) microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) reconfigurable filter with spurious suppression implemented using packaged metal-contact switches. Both simulation and measurement results show a two-state, two-pole 5% filter with a tuning range of 17% from 1.06 GHz to 1.23 GHz, an insertion loss of 1.56–2.28 dB and return loss better than 13...

Brain machine interfaces (BMIs) are devices that convert neural signals into commands to directly control artificial actuators, such as limb prostheses. Previous real-time methods applied to decoding behavioral commands from the activity of populations of neurons have generally relied upon linear models of neural tuning and were limited in the way they used the abundant statistical information ...

This paper proposes a new PI/PID controller tuning method within filtered Smith predictor (FSP) configuration in order to deal with various types of time delay processes including stable, unstable and integrating delay dominant and slow dynamic processes. The proposed PI/PID controller is designed based on the IMC principle and is tuned using a new constraint and without requiring any approxima...

In this paper, hysteretic behavior modeling, system identification and control of a mechanism that is actuated by shape memory alloy (SMA) wires are presented. The mechanism consists of two airfoil plates and the rotation angle between these plates can be changed by SMA wire actuators. This mechanism is used to identify the unknown parameters of a hysteresis model. Prandtl–Ishlinskii method is ...
